Played about 2-3 hours of singleplayer, 1 hour of multiplayer. It's exactly what you'd expect on both fronts, but I'm pretty underwhelmed by the single player so far. They have a lot of good ideas but the execution is severely lacking on a couple of the big moments so far. Started on Hardend difficulty but I ended up turning it down to Regular, firefights are just too dull to stretch out and with majority of the combat being resolved by entering triggerboxes and having your AI buddies do the work. Only thing thats really motivating in the SP is the idea of another setpiece around the corner.

Unless they release the single-player game seperately for a tenner I wont bother, I'll just watch a playthrough on Youtube... it's not like it makes that much difference playing it anyway :XD:

Finished the single player yesterday, pretty sure this will be the last time I play COD SP until they do something to mix it up.

Most of the maps I've tried so far in MP have been pretty good, but I'm really not feeling tempted to play this over BF3.

ugly, everything is looking dated as fuck and there's nothing to really make me interested. gameplay is so boring at this point, i want to look around but the ai just keeps shouting at me, enemy encounters (which is, let's face it, 99% of this game) are on the same level of quality as duck hunt. guns aren't anything new or special, story is so up it's own arsehole that i don't even care what is happening or even if soap lives or dies.

still having situations on normal difficulty where i have in excess of 4 grenade icons around me, bloody screen so real all over the place, boring boring boring.

i'll try some coop; maybe some mp, but really, how much different is it going to be from cod4, mw2, waw, black ops?

i wonder ifwe are going to enter some kind of bizarre reality where they can put less and less effort into call of duty games and still sell millions. at what point are they just going to re-release cod4 at full price and 20 million people will re-buy it?

I have just started the singlepayer campaign.

When you come from BF3 with his awesome weapons' feelings and sounds and you get... that. It's disgusting.

Everything is brown or gray.

The ridiculous thing is that there's this whole drama at the beginning and he survives, only to be killed off later on in the game

I don't understand given how many people worked on this (seriously, look at how many people made the game in the credits), how much stuff was recycled and how the game engine is pretty much the same as COD4 that they couldn't have made a longer and more interesting campaign! Even the multiplayer has been getting some bad user reviews in the sense that it's just MW2 with some extra toys.

I can't understand how corrupt the reviews are, 9.5/10?!! You gotta be kidding me. Some of it looks pretty nice for old tech, but for £40, you want a full paintjob, rather than just an undercoat...

Gameplay is exactly the same as before... "Take out those snipers!" "Get on that 50!" "Press X repeatedly to not die!". I'm glad I didn't bother, I'd have been more disappointed that I was when I'd bought MW2 at full price.

Russkii errors, none of you will care but I'll mention them anyway

FSO Agent Harkov doesn't make sense, there is no "h" sound in Russian, it should be Kharkov (харьков). The yellow high voltage sign in the Russian submarine and

base in Siberia

is in Bulgarian (високо напрежение опасно за живота), it should be "высокое напряжение опасно для жизни" (High Voltage - Dangerous To Life).

This, it should be a 7 at best.

I don't really see the problem, It's the same thing EA and 2K do with sports games.

I don't think anyone's exactly advocating that shit either. God damn gaming.

This is a very interesting point. I mean people keep buying those games because lineups change and they want the newest stuff, but I don't think anyone really wants to buy it, I think people would be pretty happy with a DLC that just updated player rosters or added a new stadium. But there's not exactly the same amount of money in that.

Publishers will keep on doing games that people pay for. As long as people pay for COD 7... 8... 9... 10... 11... 98... 99... Activision will keep on shitting games every year. Same for that FIFA shit that comes out every year since '94. If people buy it, then they'll keep on doing it.

Here at mapcore we represent a diferent market tho, especially since a big part of us are either developers or "hardcore gamers" (fuck me I hate that term... it's like calling people that enjoy playing games lifeless koreans) so we know better.

And since I know better... this MW3 is a huge PASS for me.
