PCGamer gave it 62%;

- Called it a door simulator because your objectives are about getting to a door everytime.

- Kills are mostly done with cutscenes (seriously..?)

- Checkpoints are rare and there's no save function.

- Most missions start with just an un-silenced pistol and you can't equipt yourself.

- Agent 47 can put his hand over his face to stop enemies suspecting him of foul play (wtf..?)

- You can't freely roam the missions to plan your strategy before starting them properly...

- Guards instantly spot you in about 3 seconds unless you hide behind something or do a Commando Roll

- Despite being Steam based, you can't play the game offline at all.

Any truth to these?! It all seems quite bizarre to change a formula that has worked so well in the past... I must admit I only ever played the second game, I've never been a fan of stealth.

Though some of his points are valid enough (yeah, the majority of checkpoints are linked by doors), then a lot of them are also pretty off IMO, the most blatant being the one with most kill being done in cutscenes. Unless I'm mistaken or has had a sudden case of amnesia, then like 95% of the target assassinations are done by you, in game. Apparently he also had some major performance issues, which I can totally sympathise with, since that can make any game feel awful. They got fixed tho, but apparently that didn't change his mind.

Anyway, the reviews so far are looking good, but I'm gonna stay pessimistic until there's at least 20 on there, don't want to get my feelings hurt again :D

I'm curious and will play the game but some of the stuff I read both on the PC Gamer and the RockPaperShotgun reviews kind of watered down my excitement... http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/11/18/wot-i-think-hitman-absolution/

Nonono Chimeray! :D That's not how it works (not with Hitman anyway). When you buy it on GMG you get a Steam key. No 2nd hand stuff.

But then people trade in those steam keys and you get that same steam key afterwards? Meaning you just lost the publisher a sale... Which, needless to say, hurts the industry. Or is this not how it works after all?
