geogzm Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 This is my first post here, this was going to be a map for TF2, but then I started playing CS:GO and felt like mapping for that a lot more. pl_border errybody: FMPONE 1 Quote

El Moroes Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 I agree...Ravage, you have to finish that !! Quote
Sprony Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 How about every week that Ravage doesn't make progress on this awesomeness we ban him for a day? And thank you Ravage, for posting again. I love this thread. Quote
RaVaGe Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) I forgot about this one too , I think I still have some .vmf, if someone want them ask me. Actually it's pretty hard for me to enjoy making maps, I have high expectation about how my work should look, and it takes me so much time to do something bearable to my eyes, so it's not really fun anymore, plus de fact that I don't have so much time for doing maps, giving up is easier EDIT: And skacky, about that crazy brushwork, it's an instanced room wich is basicly angled on every edges, I had to finish the details on sd_congo, never finished it, yet I used the instance technique, from furyo if I remember correctly, I've built all my walls straight, and then carved them with a 22.5° angled brush. It's why I never made a TF2 map. Try learning a different set of skills like modelling or texturing and then coming back to mapping. You will have more knowledge and give yourself some room to just experiment. Squad 1 Quote

Yeah I would love to learn photoshop and 3Dsmax, but you know, the time, the time ..., especially when I love to procrastinate I already have a cracked version of 3Dsmax though, the only thing I made back then is a fucking table Edited July 16, 2014 by RaVaGe Quote

Idolon Posted July 19, 2014 Report Posted July 19, 2014 Oh man, Imbricatus was a great map. Not because it was fun to play (because the layout had a lot of issues), but I would want to play the thing just so I could look at it. He also made a couple of other TF2 maps that never got to the detailing stage, but gosh are they cool looking regardless. FMPONE and JeanPaul 2 Quote
