Just found some screens from my second UDK project I worked on during my time at university (Rocks and plants are from other persons).

 

 

Reminds me of Duke Nukem's desert highway level :)

Here is s ome stuff i Made last year with Arma 3 engine, with the lack of real map (stratis was the only map released), i tried to model some building to create a close quarter gameplay. I made like 5 buildings, enterable with stairs and few walkable floors. But tools were awfull, i lost interest and reseted my HDD.

Yeah, definetly, i wanted to give a BF feeling to arma 3, as i mainly play it for ground and infantry combat (when tanks, mortars and heli get involved in a game, i find the game less interesting).

I designed those building to have at least 2 entries : main entry, roof entry (using ladders) and if possible, another one (ladder ou door) : So the combat would be like a "hide&seek", you can see that all the buildings had some floors where you can sit and snipe from windows...

 

Unfortunatly, the arma modding tools are the worst ever created for modding. The engine is old, so the tools are and modding requires the modder to learn a lot of stuff (scripting, coding shaders, coding materials, config models , etc... )

 

I don't know how the hell looks like, but i'm sure that if you are a bad bad person, satan forces you to mod the arma engine. :D

Well, I have to agree with you and I am from the company ! :-D Fortunately the ices started moving thanks to DayZ.

Well, I have to agree with you and I am from the company ! :-D Fortunately the ices started moving thanks to DayZ. 

 

 

There is a huge amount of ice to move to get a smooth engine ^^ I don't think main problem are the tools, but seing the shit a modders have to do to get a single model in game is crazy.

 

Speaking of Dayz, I just can't get how after 1+ year of dev the game is still not even close to an alpha. I love the mod, but the game is just the biggest deception i had in my entire life...

 

I just hope BI, with the sales of Dayz and A3, will improve the engine in the good way... A3 is still one of my favourite game, but it lacks so many features and polish.
