Hi all,

Here is my first matte painting, hehe. It was easy!

Ive been practising 3 days only painting. And this is the first matte painting attempt ^^

Do you think its good?

excellent first attempt.... my first attempt would probably make people in here want to stab me in the kidney.

i honestly think the barn on the right looks a little wierd with the rest of the colors going on around it. Almost as if theres too much tiny detail for how far it is, comes across as noisey. Your posts on the fence look great, as do your power lines/trees. i think adding some rays of sunlight coming through your clouds up top would be a nice touch, and possibly some love cleaning up the house face ont he left too. I like your road and the glossiness painted into it seems accurate to bouncing the pinks in the background of your clouds. Other than that I cant really tellt oo much other detail its almost all mucked out - could be because of compression? do you have a link to a higher res/non-compressed version?

That looks brilliant, nice work! The only thing wrong with it for me is that you've obviously cloned part of the barn to the right and it's a little distracting from the atmosphere, you just need another suitable barn reference and it's done!

Very, very nice result for a first attempt! What have you been using to learn? Been thinking about getting a bit about concept art myself.

Nah you're not Gothic, Pripyat looks like that all the time ;D It's great! As a second piece of work it's amazing. Could you share some of your resources? I'd like to try a bit of matte painting myself
