Aless Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 A map a canceled long time ago. But now i am working on it again. Feel a need to finish all my old maps before going on to source... Textures by X-tender and Valve. Coments! Quote
sk3tch Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 Just some things I noticed in your map.. 1: using those scaffolding "x" bars as rails doesn't really look good as a railing 2: Pictures 1 and 2 could use a sidewalk ...even if the texture provides one...make a brush to raise it up and make it noticeable. 3: In picture 3 the grass growing up the building looks kinda wierd from that angle 4: In picture 3 the ductwork runs into a wooden some-thing or other...make the wooden (heater?) look like something more feasable. 5: The wooden posts with the mesh attached to it look too thick. 6: I'm not much to say it here...but I know somebody's going to point it out...add something to the corners of the buildings..like trim or something. (seeing how I have the same habbit of making stuff blocky  ) It looks good so far....maybe some light posts / light tricks could really set this map off. I wanna see this done...I hope I helped a little. Quote
Fruchtzwerg Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Needs more custom textures and less crates. Quote
Aless Posted December 13, 2004 Author Report Posted December 13, 2004 sk3tch: 1: mmm... I kinda like the "X" rail But i will try another tex and see how it looks. 2: Nice tip thx Think that will look much better 3: See what you mean It does not look good at all. 4: My brother said the same thing. I will fix that 5: Yeah look kinda fat. I will fix that. 6: Trims along the side to make less blocky is a very good thing to do. Thx Thx for all the nice tips. I will have those in mind. Fruchtzwerg: Working on it. Quote

D3adlode Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 For crying out loud, not every one has a system powerful enough to run HL2, it's ok for some of you mites getting your mummys and daddy's to buy you all this 'cool' hardware, some of us have to work for a living... The map reminds me of something made not long back, X-tender did the textures I believe. It looks alright, kind of average. Don't use crates, I mean if you look at villages in general there aren't any crates in the street, use them where appropriate but don't go overboard.. Quote
sk3tch Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 OMG!...deadlode hit it on the spot. Quote
