madgernader Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 didn't know this had a trailer, thanks for the post... Still not sure if this will be any good, but I read and enjoyed the book. The fountainhead was definitely better in my mind but atlas shrugged was good. Quote
Minos Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Cool. The Fountainhead has to be one of my favourite movies ever, definitely a must see for everyone who has a creative job: Quote
Sentura Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 yeah i loved the fountainhead as a book, some of the best characterizations i've ever read. Quote
Erratic Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I don't think a worse trailer has ever been produced. Everything about it was awful. Felt like a car commercial with really shitty acting. And oh god the dialogue... Quote

Sentura Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 the people that are interested in this aren't going to watch it for the trailer, obviously. i posted this to break the news about the movie itself. Quote
Warby Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 i ment to read that book because of bioshock .... but this is not at all what i imagined the content of the book to be ?! apart from being set in modern times and shot in cheap looking dv Quote
Puddy Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 just awful trailer, just awful. I am bit of a capitalist myself, definitely right-leaning fiscally and economics is a field I enjoy reading about. One would think that I would be the target demographic of this kind of film but I can honestly say I consider this complete and utter bullshit. Bioshock lifted some themes and style from atlas shrugged and that was cool and all but the novel itself is just... gehjghg. Bible but for religious capitalists basically. Quote

cincinnati Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 ayn rand tells the same story with the same basic cast of characters in every book she wrote. just pick the shortest one. atlas shrugged is the long one. a lot of conservatives in the US are going to rally around this without realizing that it's not about them. and that trailer was awful. Jetsetlemming Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 ayn rand tells the same story with the same basic cast of characters in every book she wrote. just pick the shortest one. atlas shrugged is the long one. a lot of conservatives in the US are going to rally around this without realizing that it's not about them. and that trailer was awful. pretty much. "author writes mary sue version of self in book; attempts to justify prejudices and hatred". It's gonna either look way worse in film, or the movie's gonna rewrite everything to either be MIA or tongue in cheek, Starship Troopers style. I'm hoping for the latter, I could use a good political comedy. Instead the trailer just looks straight up awful. "Part 1" ahaha. Quote
