deceiver
I can't get Decimation Master to show up in my Zbrush plugins for some reason. I put everything that it needs in the ZPlugs folder as instructed, but nada, won't show up =/. In any case, any chance someone could decimate my model for me (PM me with e-mail pls, can't post it up as it's under NDA) or suggest me a good free alternative to Decimation Master? PhilipK
I still use meshlab every now and then. Can do a pretty neat job on it: http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/
deceiver
Oh well, guess I was too tired last night to realize you could still download and use polycruncher without paying the 129$ licence fee. I'll try that! I downloaded meshlab too just in case! And it's not for work, just for my one last contract before I leave for Toronto heh. deceiver
Woo, polycruncher worked great, 7 day trial though.
Bunglo
Mehslab does just as well as polycruncher once your trial runs out. Though there were times when my obj from Mudbox would freeze up during the decimation process. I use Max's ProOptimizer modifier most of the time now. Rick_D
only problem with prooptimiser is you need to get it in max first. and when you have a few million triangles in a single object, max shits itself to the verge of rectal prolapse

I my case Meshlab made some strange problems on the UVs. Roadkill crash, and Maya don't like it.
