Hehe, I actually like a lifebar more than numbers because it's easier to read. I had an idea as well to maybe make it hearts like in zelda . I don't think I'll add a face there, I'm not sure about it's function other than nostalgia value, as a novelty idea it could be cool to use webcam input, so you see your own face while playing haha

pixelate, black outlines and only every third frame... but i guess it wouldn't really contribute anything (apart from if you would do a multiplayer version)...
