El Moroes Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Yesterday I watched "Sicario" and...wow...this movie is impressive. I stayed glued on my chair to the beginning at the end. I advice you this movie guys. -----"An idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by an elected government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico." will2k, D3ads, Jacia and 2 others 5 Quote
blackdog Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Yup! Sicario was on my list since trailer #1 and didn't disappoint!Been this afternoon to watch it* and it's fucking badass. Goddamn intense. I want to watch the border scene over and over again now.Can describe it as having the intensity of Bigelow's The Hurt Locker (awarded Best Movie and Best Director in 2009, for reference).Plus, goddamn fucking Benicio Del Toro. Love that man.*could recommend early shows as room was basically empty and my sister and I sat on the "premium" seats in the Odeon El Moroes, D3ads and jackophant 3 Quote
El Moroes Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 Yeah but I advice you to don't look at the spoiler trailer guys... Quote
blackdog Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 From the trailer I got a different idea of what was going to happen... anyway it's definitely a must. Quote
Jacia Posted October 21, 2015 Report Posted October 21, 2015 (edited) Sicario was deifnitely a nice change from most of the other rubbish played in cinemas. Although imo, some parts were a little stretched. Camera work & Story made up for it though Edited October 21, 2015 by Jacia blackdog 1 Quote
D3ads Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 Sicario is definitely on my "To watch" list after seeing the trailers the other day! blackdog 1 Quote

will2k Posted November 1, 2015 Report Posted November 1, 2015 Sherlock Holmes Classics (the way Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote them )The Sign of Four (1987)The Hound Of The Baskervilles (1988) Quote
blackdog Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 How are these movies? I've read some of the Sherlock novels like the Baskervilles and I think I don't want to ever imagine the thing differently from what I came up in my youth Quote
will2k Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 How are these movies? I've read some of the Sherlock novels like the Baskervilles and I think I don't want to ever imagine the thing differently from what I came up in my youthA movie will never match one's vivid imagination and how they reconstruct the characters and chain of events in their mind With that said, these movies are quite faithful to the novels and vision of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; there is no action superhero extravaganza (like the recent Guy Ritchie/Robert Downey, Jr version), it's more brain work and charismatic character of Holmes. The plot can get slow sometimes but it doesn't detract from the overall movie flow.In my opinion, Jeremy Brett (Holmes) and Edward Hardwicke (Watson) are probably the best actors who embodied the vision of Doyle from the novels. Before these 2 movies in 87 and 88, there was a TV series with Brett-Hardwicke in the mid 80s called "The adventures of Sherlock Holmes" which I used to eagerly anticipate every episode Quote
blackdog Posted November 7, 2015 Report Posted November 7, 2015 Seen Mockingjay Part 1, to catch up and eventually go see the last with my girlfriend... so glad it was on a Netflix I don't pay, this movie redefines the meaning of "filler": two hours of absolute nothing happening, boring scenes etc as highlighted in the honest trailer. Where's the "Everything Wrong"? Quote
ZZZ Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) Heroes Reborn. The beginning was pretty bad, wasn't excited at all. But after the episode in which they travel back in time to explain what happened before the series first episode I was "Oh! Now it's going back to its rails". They've found a perfect excuse to kill the immortal cheerleader. Edited November 11, 2015 by 0kelvin Quote
blackdog Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 The first episode of Halt and Catch Fire is another great opening of a show for geeks. The trailers don't do it any justice Quote
blackdog Posted November 12, 2015 Report Posted November 12, 2015 Woa, this was on my YT home before logging infrom concept artist to director. Quote
