I finally saw "The Lego Movie". I expected it to be absolute garbage but it's hilarious. There a so many little things going on in scenes that just put a smile on your face. Batman owned this movie. It's really great. SPACESHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finished watching American Hustle. Forgettable I'd say.

It's on Now TV, it's Sky's equivalent of Netflix that features all the stuff Sky somehow keeps exclusive (like HBO stuff, Game of Thrones and such). I use that and Netflix on my PS3 for ultimate programming coverage, only like £13/month for both.

Uh, so it's quite cheap. (Sky)

If it works similarly to netflix and I can share it with my in-law, from whom I get netflix, I could return the favour.

Are there other sedmrvices worth considering? Sometime ago I saw an ad but when I was looking for the service I couldn't remember the name xD but I always had the feeling it was sky related, so maybe it's this Now thing.

I don't think there's anything else worth having in the UK, it's only really Netflix and Now TV (Sky) that get the good programmes. Of course there's iPlayer and such, but they're free.

Now TV is surprisingly good value considering how expensive Sky normally is. I added the movies too for an extra £8, which allows streaming access to everything on Sky Movies. I guess they're feeling the heat from Netflix and realised that they need to offer an affordable alternative to the rapidly failing set-top box and contract model.

Just came back from the new X-Men. I was expecting a lot but it left me disappointed. It tries too hard to combine these two great casts but it doesn't make any sense whatsoever and it keeps dragging on without anything really significant happening. I was literally starting to check the time about 45 minutes in. What a waste of potential.

For the life of me, I can't understand the 8.9 Imdb rating it currently has. Everybody is singing it's praises. It's even certified fresh on RottenTomatoes.

However, gotta give credit where credit is due. Quicksilver was fucking awesome!

I finally watched a Marvel movie I truly enjoy: X-Men First Class. I love how they focus a lot more on character development and much less on explosions and puns. My only complaint is that I wish it had a more mature rating and thus more blood/violence :)

8/10

First three episodes of Hannibal S2... holy shit! That "mural" is art though, someone should totally do that...

Without killing anyone of course

I agree with Sprony, I left quite disappointed. Not sure why though, I love First Class but this was just very meh.

There were people laughing all the movie through, seriously wtf just shut the f up? Even clapping at 2 points in the movie. Never going to a premiere again that's for sure :P Felt like it was an afternoon show with 5 year olds even though it was 10PM.

My gripe with the plot without spoiling anything is that it's way too predictable and simplistic, you only need to watch the first 15 minutes of the movie, the rest is just seeing it unfold exactly the way you imagined it...

The 3D was also really crap, I'm thinking the glasses they use just don't block the right light waves cos if I keep one eye shut it's still double vision! So that left me bitter and unimmersed yet again, big F you to Swedish cinema, worst crap in the universe. They're opening an IMAX in 2015 though so that should be great! :)

Time travel already leaves so much questions, let alone when you mix it with superpowers! Why oh why!

I forced myself this evening and watched Eyes wide shut.

Well i didn't really wanted to see it because of kidman and cruise but also the theme of couple, fantasm and deception which i found to be moving me one without touching the other.

Well as i would have guessed the photo is amazing, soundtrack is too. The slow pace of the movie and the seamless switch between real and unreal makes it really hypnotic (also dangerous desires and mysterious tits help). But at the same time i felt the movie to be completely emotionless. Like it's considering a theme which is all about emotions, but turn it into a cold, distant, legitimately elegant piece of marble.

It's like the movie didn't wanted me to get into it by putting that distance, firstly by the choice of the main actors which are completely souless and staged as in how misplaced they are (but on second thought are completely spot on). And at the same time, in contrast, some secondary actors who sound more just than cruise and kidman.

The story is completely futile, without the superb plasticity it just couldn't be possible to watch that from start to end in 2 and half hours with that rhythm. I find it to sometime deliberately reach real close to grotesque as was the whole scene with rich people doing liturgic orgies in a luxurious manor with masks and then how grotesque the rest of the movie turn into a shallow thriller plot ending on nothing.

So i was watching it from afar and it definitely feels more like a movie about form and style, than about the content. As if it was composed to be seen this way. Maybe a movie about how kubrick makes cinema ?  Well at least i guess that's what it is.

edit : Or maybe it's meant to be seen from afar because it's about the sociological theory of social class and how people live with their roles in society. Because most of the movie seems to be more about power than sexual desire, money is subtly everywhere in the movie. Well, i just don't know anymore. :v

edit2 : Or i read somewhere it could be a movie dedicated to his daughter ( as the character of the couple child we don't see much) who he never saw again before his death when she joined the church of scientology.
