shawnolson Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I wanted to share with you the Wall Worm Model Tools. It basically takes away 95% of the pain of getting your models into Source. The catch? Nothing, if you use 3ds Max! Anyway, a brief list of features: * Model Settings GUI Inside Max * Click export and models can go straight into Source * VTF exporting from model * Multiple Skin Export * Etc, etc. You can see videos, download the tool and find docs at http://wallworm.com/projects/utilities/docs/ . Enjoy! PS. Thanks to Wunderboy and Cannonfodder for providing the SMD exporters used in the tool. Quote
shawnolson Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 Since I posted first, I've added Custom Gibs & Prop Data, L4D support, various batch functions, a quick-hull generator*, ragdoll support, bodygroup support and a lot more. Click here for the complete changelog. *The Quick Hull feature (video below) is dependant on having a copy of Convexity--a version that is coming out soon. I've been collaborating with Maple3D to integrate that upcoming feature. Also, here are some of the more recent videos on some of the features: Quick Hull - Collision Model Generator Creating Bodygroups Creating a Ragdoll Material Library Generator Quote
Steppenwolf Posted July 26, 2011 Report Posted July 26, 2011 I will give this a try soon when i start working on the new Insurgency game. If it works as promised it will be a godsend. Is it compatible with the Portal 2 version of Source? Quote
shawnolson Posted July 26, 2011 Author Report Posted July 26, 2011 Is it compatible with the Portal 2 version of Source? I am assuming it is. It works with every version of Source I've been exposed to so far... but I haven't worked on anything for Portal 2 yet so I cannot say yes from experience. But I'm sure it does. A few mods (like L4D) require an extra setting in the tool's config... but I don't expect any problems. But to be thorough, I'll report back in a week or two when I get around to testing Portal 2. shawnolson Posted July 20, 2013 Author Report Posted July 20, 2013 I resurrect this ancient thread from the dead to announce that I have finally added CAT/Biped Support to Wall Worm. Enjoy. (In case you didn't know, worms are good on a cracker...) The Horse Strangler 1 Quote
