ok guys, could you try this fix:

1.) Take this file: http://www.littlelostpoly.co.uk/PVT/Misc/fonts.rar

and uncompress it to the /steam/steamapps/common/dear esther/platform/vgui/fonts/ folder (overwriting any files that already exist)

2.) and then take this file: http://www.littlelostpoly.co.uk/PVT/Misc/basemodui_scheme.res

and stick it in

/steam/steamapps/common/dear esther/resource/

and tell me if it makes things any better?
