von*ferret Posted December 14, 2004 Author Report Posted December 14, 2004 the crane holds the RPG. However with the physics objects as it is on it, when I had the crane moving the constraints acted quite wierd and would start spazzing out after 45 seconds of the level operating. I'll keep playing with the physics but how I have it set up it doens't look there is going to be much hope for that. I understand you want for that, because that was my original plan. For now you'll have to just deal with a platform that moves when jumped on, but the crane wont be tugging the platform anywhere sadly. Quote
von*ferret Posted December 14, 2004 Author Report Posted December 14, 2004 sonic and i had some fun tonight. We decided to prove to you all there ARE physics objects EVERYWHERE and gathered some and put them in the cart. However the car proved to be too small so we moved to the truck. Even the truck couldn't handle the portion of objects we gathered. SO THERE. Quote
Crackerjack Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 hey those wooden things werent there last time! Quote
Spellbinder Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 Hahahaha. ROFL Thats great work ferret. And sonic offcourse Spellbinder. Quote
FrieChamp Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 That's about the amount of physicalized objects in one room of the hl2dm prison map It's not a problem, your map layout and the overall gameplay in the map is more old fashioned, more open spaced with not so many physicalized objects like in the official hl2dm maps. That doesn't mean it's bad, it's both fun, it's a matter of taste. Quote
KidDynamite Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 personally i HATE the physic objects, so thank you for not putting one every 5 feet fetter. Looking great man PLAYTEST TONIGHT! Quote
Duff-e Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 personally i think you should spice it up a bit since its a construction site....what do i mean? put some breakable scaffolding that have gigantic concrete barriers or something on top and if you break it it will kill the guys under it just a suggestion....especially if you're planning on entering this into the contest....because if i were them i would want to see the "omg super cool amazing physics" some how incorporated in a new way (besidse tossing an explosive barrel in someones face) Quote
DudeTor Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 Very nice Fetter! Love your work! Maybe a ditch with some muddy water somewhere near that truck in the open area? Quote
Fletch Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 personally i think you should spice it up a bit since its a construction site....what do i mean? put some breakable scaffolding that have gigantic concrete barriers or something on top and if you break it it will kill the guys under it just a suggestion....especially if you're planning on entering this into the contest....because if i were them i would want to see the "omg super cool amazing physics" some how incorporated in a new way (besidse tossing an explosive barrel in someones face) the problem with that is it's only a one time thing. the second somebody does that, it's over. Anything that is dynamic in multiplayer maps needs to be repeatable for it to have any merit. Quote
Duff-e Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 good point fletch....i was thinking in terms of counterstrike and failed to realize that it would never reset Quote
mike-0 Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 ugh, counterstrike... i havent played that game in months. Quote
von*ferret Posted December 15, 2004 Author Report Posted December 15, 2004 I had the platform at first have a button over near the truck that when pushed would drop the platform and the barrels and the RPG. But you cant get the platform to reset so I had to ditch that idea. Quote
Duff-e Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 fyi its not cool to hate cs anymore Quote
