ferret i know my usual shtick is you being gay and all....but if you made that crane operate-able....i would forever be in your debt

If only. Pilotable cranes have been tried in HL2DM; they just don't work. :(

Yea that playtest last night was lots of fun, I really like the map. Although it isn't the gameplay you would expect from HL2DM after playing the 2 official maps, it's more like the old HLDM, which isn't a bad thing, just a matter of taste I guess.

The item placement was good overall, however the gravity gun could gain more importance if you add a couple of more props. For example the shotgun can be picked up from a few too many places, so maybe you want replace it with some nifty props to throw around. Also the tables, the items are placed on, are not physicalized which means that you can't use them with the gravity gun. I think in the official maps the items just drop on the floor when the table is gone, which is not as bad as when you have magic tables in the map you cannot use to throw around. It breaks the design.

Anyway, cool map, what are your plans on additions to it, or is it basically finished?

i played a map last night that had a crane in it.....the problem i see is that once you get in you cant hurt the guy in there......he just disappears

if you dont believe me i can send you the map....its called something with "isle" in it

edit:

suggestion: perhaps have the crane turn occasionally and have the platform its supporting move to an otherwise inaccessable spot with a a power weapon or w/e.
