Raining all day today, then suddenly @ 6:30 PM, it stopped for 5 min and a patch of clouds moved away...grab the camera, run into a nearby field through the mud

Now it's raining again with loud thunder

Total lunar eclipse - July 27 2018

Took a couple of shots of yesterday's lunar eclipse, the longest in the 21st century so far ( 4 hours total including 1 hour 40 min for the "blood moon" total eclipse phase)

1 - Shortly after the eclipse started around 9:30 PM (it was cloudy but I managed to get the shots in-between clouds )

2 - Eclipse about 80%

3 - Total eclipse, the "blood moon" phase with the red-orange tint

4 - Eclipse is partial again. Earth's shadow is moving away and the moon is being lit again.

5 - Eclipse is almost over. Moon is getting back being a "full moon"

Nice ! You were lucky, here in Lyon we had too many clouds and we didn't see the moon

we had clouds too but we were a bit luckier as they tended to scatter every half hour allowing me to snap some shots before regrouping and blocking the view.

What did you use to photograph it?

I also had a little trip out of town to get some shots of the moon.

The evening started with a pretty cool sunset:

(BTW: No Photoshop magic here, pretty much straight outta Camera)

Then, after a little while, I took quite some pictures of the Blood Moon. It was really hard to get the focus spot on since everything was so dark. The rather long exposure time didn't really help. This is the sharpest one I probably got:

And since the Mars was also well visible, I had to get a photo of both Moon and Mars in one shot.

Ended the trip with a little wide angle shot of the eclipse and the Milky Way. 30s exposure time:

Great pictures @will2k and @El_Exodus! Sadly didn't get to see it myself, but expected since ideal condition was being in a wide open area and little light pollution (none of which I met). Did you manage to see Mars too?

I was on the Black Sea's western shore and these are some of the shots i took. Unfortunately it was cloudy and in couldn't see all the eclipse. I did see the Moon a little bit after it had risen from sea. (no photoshop was used for these pictures)

Sure, I got several shots with the moon and Mars in the same shot (@El_Exodus 4th pic has both in frame)

Yesterday; On top of the mountain at ~2500 meters altitude (8200 feet), well above the clouds

The view was breathtaking and it was cold (dropped below 10°C after sunset)
