Jetsetlemming Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Started replaying Silent Hill Shattered Memories last night, playing it kinda coop with the gf. Coloring the house after the first run moment was fun. Quote
ElectroSheep Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 I don't know what the designers of deux ex 3 have smoked when they designed bossfight (particulary the 3rd) but they should really ask themselves in the future if what they do is fun because it's COMPLETLY NOT FUN. /ragequit Quote
Thrik Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Seems like they looked at Metal Gear Solid which is well known for having the best boss fights in history between long sections of stealth gameplay and figured they'd try to emulate it, even going so far as to outsource the boss battles to a team that specialises in such action — then somehow it all ended up as a complete mess. Next time they should leave being epic to MGS. Quote
ElectroSheep Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Yeah MGS boss are goog So I finally kill him with a glicht. I keep it jumping over a wall and I blast it during the jump. LOL. Quote
Taylor Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 I actually started playing Final Fantasy 5 again via SNES emulator. It’s not my favourite of the series but it’s certainly better than most of the modern ones and it’s such a fantastic contrast to the abysmal FFXIII. Dungeons are dungeons and not straight paths monsters on them. It is fundamentally linear but there are plenty of optional tasks and areas within each bubble of content. The job system is still my favourite RPG system and lends itself to a lot of customisation; it is not overcomplicated presentation making learning skills in a predetermined sequence look like choice. You hardly have to be a tactical mastermind to beat the battles but because of the job system you never really feel like you’re just going through the same motions. Whereas in FF12 the battles were automatic and in FF13 the battles were automatic but you had to keep pressing the play button. Shocking. I also got Soul Calibur 5. It’s a lot of fun when you’re playing against friends and the occasional Ranked opponent who is playing properly but it’s a mashers dream. They’ve added in supers now that all seem to be +0, which basically means if you’re not blocking when the flash happens you’re getting hit by it. However, as with most 3D fighters, the controls are bad. You have a lot of moves but only 3 attack buttons (plus guard) so you end up with different moves on 5, 4, 1, 2, 3, 6 and 8 for every button, double directions, holding directions, double direction and hold, all double buttons (but A+K), holding buttons, pressing buttons then immediately pressing another, pressing one or two buttons then immediately pressing three, releasing buttons after charge, varies contexts (dashing, stepping, rising, backwards, etc.), stances, arbitrary fireball motions, and all variations in-between. And half the moves that hit you in the shins have to be blocked standing for no apparent reason so you need to learn everyone’s data. They’ll even give two characters the same move with different blocks. Anyway, I don’t dislike the game as I said and I’ve stopped playing UMvC3 ever since I got it. Which is lucky because this rant would be about 10 times longer if I was playing that instead. Quote
macattackk Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 started playing Crysis 2. gotta see what professional looks like for my cryengine 3 project. Quote
knj Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Started The Darkness II yesterday evening, and i love it, the FOV isn't such a big issue for me, one thing that i don't like is that the graphics have that cartoonish feel, i prefered more realistic graphics aka The Darkness the first (i know that this is based on comics but anyways), still good game Quote
ElectroSheep Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Well... The end of Deus Ex sucks !! Stupid boss => choice your end = > blablaaaa => End : O_O Quote
knj Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Finished the Darkness II, short but intese game Quote
kleinluka Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Finished Homefront (PS3).... some good entertaining moments here and there but overall it felt unfinished and not quite up there compared to other games out there right now. Finished Red Dead Redemption (PS3)... just wow. I love this game. Finished Battlefield 3 SP (PC) - loved it. Screw the haters. MP is super addictive too! Quote
Nysuatro Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Finally got around playing/finishing Dead Space 2. Such a good game. Scary ass hell and it had its strange game mechanic moments but at the end a crazy positive experience. I really liked the contrast in the story that made you keep on going. This game is now my top scary game that I have played. Quote

This game is now my top scary game that I have played. Yep, it's very good. Personally, I'm about to get started on Alan Wake PC whilst still playing Battlefield 3. Discovered that there's a pretty active clan scene for the latter and whilst the game isn't really suited for hardcore e-sports, it's pretty fun just to play semi-serious clan games. 4on4 Squad Rush is my favorite gametype so far. 2d-chris Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 Well... The end of Deus Ex sucks !! Stupid boss => choice your end = > blablaaaa => End : O_O my beef was with the entire last mission, the actual boss fight and end was ok for me. PS why we still using spoiler tags ;P Quote
