Played some more Last of Us, I'm getting into it! Early on in the game, things felt very hamstrung and gimped (you felt so mechanical that you had to craft a shiv to one-use kill a clicker and all that stuff) but this eases up later on as you get some upgrades going. The weapons are incredibly punchy and satisfying and the AI (particularly humans) move and fight very nicely (thus far anyway). I like the fact that the combat feels chaotic and desperate.

Really addicted so far. Last one I played was part 1. This one seems to be a total improvement. Nothing I saw in 1 that I missed. A lot more stuff to do it seems as well. 

 

It also has an overworld which is one of my favorite things to see in a game like this.

Finished The Vanishing of Ethan Carter yesterday (couldn't find any thread on this game?).

Goddamn does it look nice...!

The mood and the ambiance are spot on and the graphics in general are among the best I've seen for this setting.

 

Not 100% sold on the gameplay (mostly how it's linked to the story) but there are definitely some great and surprising moments that I'll remember for a long time.
