Thrik Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 Nexus, STFU and FO. I haven't played this yet, but the trailer looks delightful: Makes me wonder why more games haven't explored survival in nature, there's endless potential for heartbreaking and exciting stories. It'd be so amazing to be able to play out the things you see in the BBC's Planet Earth, Life, and Africa; if it were handled gracefully it could induce more genuine emotion than any game has ever managed (like the baby elephant scene from Africa oh my god). PogoP Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 Thrik, I've actually heard negative things about that game. Also, whats with that horrible white filter? Makes it look really washed out, which is a shame because the art looks really unique. Quote

This is why I tried to get into Miasmata... but the problem is that the game mechanics came in the way of making the game fun or interesting. A more polished version would definitely have won me over (especially if you still had to do the triangulation puzzles) Quote
Vilham Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) Shelter is fucking fantastic. Very unique and has a more emotional story that 99% of games out there. For me its on a level with Thomas was alone. Edited May 25, 2014 by Vilham Quote

A more polished version would definitely have won me over (especially if you still had to do the triangulation puzzles) Miasmata was just too non friendly to be enjoyable really. It does have good ideas but it's so clunky and unpolished that I had to stop 1h in. But yeah, I'd like to see more of these attempts and hopefully The Forest will help fill the gap Quote

I played it and enjoyed it but did not purchase the full game. When I saw the free weekend, I immediately grabbed it to relive those "12 o'clock" moments Can't wait to check ARMAII as I haven't played it before. Quote
AlexM Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 Been playing the new tomb raider. I went in not expecting anything and was quite surprised at how good it is. Also I don't feel embarrassed playing the game anymore because she doesn't look like a balloon. Sentura 1 Quote
ZZZ Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Unreal 1 and Unreal Tournament. But not for nostalgia. I've just found out that maps that I made a logn time ago had some positive comments in a UT community, which lead me to downloading them and going back to mapping for UT and U1 just to test out some theories that I've came up with during my incursion in id tech 3 realm. KoKo5oVaR Posted June 3, 2014 Report Posted June 3, 2014 So like, i was playing Silent Storm for the first time (saw what you did there) And well, that's a pretty awesome tactical game ! I would put it right next to Jagged Alliance 2. Everything was going so well, WW2 stuff, documents and shit, how naïve i was. Until that mission : Panzerkleins. God that was absolutely traumatic. The ones who've been there surely have it in their eyes. Those game designers were completely nuts if not sadistic. It took me an entire evening and a lot of ragequits; but man, that was like my most epic battle in a tactical game ever. Quote
