Jetsetlemming
New game from the makers of AaAaAA!!! A Reckless Disregard For Gravity, 1… 2… 3… KICK IT! (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby) (or Kick It for short) is like AaAaAA meets Audiosurf meets Beat Hazard. Procedurally generated cityscapes you fall through, based on your music collection, also you shoot stuff. It's available for preorder now for $9.95, and if you do so you get alpha access. http://dejobaan.com/kickit/ Heck yes. Also I can't get the video embed to work for some reason. Sentura
hmm isn't this basically audiosurf?
Jetsetlemming
hmm isn't this basically audiosurf? Does it bother you that another game builds levels on mp3s?
Chimeray
Ah, thanks. Here's a video of gameplay: Perhaps it's just me... But it hardly responds to music, does it? Or perhaps I don't have a sense of rhythm! hah! Cool stuff nonetheless.
Sentura
hmm isn't this basically audiosurf? Does it bother you that another game builds levels on mp3s? why would it bother me? i'm asking since i don't know. but from the looks of it, it could be at least somewhat the same thing. Jetsetlemming
The gameplay isn't like Audiosurf, it's like AaAAaaA!!. You're falling down through the level and score points based on getting close to things as you fall without hitting anything. On top of that apparently you shoot stuff. Taylor
There's a few games out there that generate levels from music. It certainly is similar to AaaAaaAaa. I remember reading their levels were generated half randomly and half by a designer falling down a route they want the player to take, so I would assume it now does that second bit with music. I also remember them saying an eye-catching name was important, so I guess that explains dropping babies.
