Minos Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Very nice! It's also great for game art reference. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I have roughly 600MB of .png Far Cry 2 screenshots in my FRAPS folder. However, I do not have a Flickr account. Instead, I'll just share one here. It's like Morrowind! <3 Game's on max quality, except no AA or DX10 (afaik dx10 in fc2 is just optimization stuff). Quote
D3ads Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 That looks pretty bland to me tbh, especially the lack of texture detail on the vehicles... Quote
deceiver Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Man, I remember when I I found that it looked amazing at the time. Crazy how games age fast. Quote
Minos Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Far Cry 2 still looks amazing in my opinion (considering it's a multiplatform game), that screenshot just doesn't make it justice. I love how they make clever use of texture masks and blending. But yeah the game is so fucking boring I gave up after a few hours. Quote
Erratic Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 But yeah the game is so fucking boring I gave up after a few hours. Probably the best singleplayer fps since Halo. Probably. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Far Cry 2 starts off bad and gets good after you slog through the steep learning curve for unexplained functions (how respawning works, how to deal with checkpoints, how buddy rescues work, etc.) and unlocking good weapons. Once you've got the pistol slot grenade launcher, life gets way better. That screenshot wasn't chosen for pretty, it was chosen for atmosphere A lot of the impressive stuff in Far Cry 2's graphics, especially the massive fields of grass that sways in the wind and self shadows, is simply impossible to properly show in screenshots. It all ends up looking muddled and random when it isn't in motion. Quote
-HP- Posted December 8, 2010 Author Report Posted December 8, 2010 A dark screenshot with two half vehicles on it, and then one with a tree trunk in the middle? Anyway, FC2 is a kind of a good game but the graphical quality is not exactly stellar, what it does, it does well, and It is a very immersive game, and the environments work pretty well. Anyway, screenshot from my level vulcano: Also, remember this thread for more awesomeness: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=11368&hilit=crysis+56k Crysis jungles are a little bit better. This is also really good, the guy is working with us now! http://madmaximus83.deviantart.com/gall ... ealtime-3D Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 ":2a9wt60q]A dark screenshot with two half vehicles on it, and then one with a tree trunk in the middle? There are three vehicles in that shot. When did Mapcore start cutting off images instead of dynamically scaling them? Last time I posted a fullsize image here it was scaled down to fit in the browser window until you clicked it. Quote
FrieChamp Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 ":cifmfbgo] This is also really good, the guy is working with us now! http://madmaximus83.deviantart.com/gall ... ealtime-3D NUTS! Quote
