Minos Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 A new Chronicles of Riddick title is under development thanks to a recent deal through which the series’ developer, MachineGames, was acquired RPG powerhouse Zenimax. The new game will be powered on the same engine behind Rage, Quake V, and Doom 4. That’s not surprising considering that Zenimax also owns id Software. Here’s hoping that the team at MG taps some of Bethesda’s talented writers to help with the story. Great news for the Swedish industry!! Quote
Steppenwolf Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 I wish they had their studio in Stockholm and not in Uppsala. Quite tempting considering the tech they will use. Quote
-HP- Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Quake V is in development?! Yep. rumors have been around that its on pre-production. Quote

Jetsetlemming Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 I can't seem to wrap my mind around the concept of a Quake 5. I can just barely comprehend Doom 4 (and fully expect to be disappointed by it's unavoidable destiny as an average horror FPS with an average speed protagonist using average FPS weapons against average humanoid enemies). What happened to the Escape from Butcher Bay developer? They seemed pretty on the ball. Also, lol, "Bethesda's talented writers" I hope that was sarcasm Quote
FrieChamp Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Since when is "Starbreeze" called "MachineGames"? :embarrassed: Quote
Thrik Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Haha, I'd genuinely forgotten there was a Quake 4 and it took me a good minute to remember playing it. What a memorable game. Quote
deceiver Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Since when is "Starbreeze" called "MachineGames"? :embarrassed: Yeah, I think I missed the post-it as well. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 machinegames is a company started by ex-starbreeze people (the original sbz founders I think). Good to hear theyr'e doing well! Quote
deceiver Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 ahhh right, I remember them now. Hah, thought for sure they'd be working on a new IP from the article I read of them a year back. Quote
Nysuatro Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 I hope they need a technical artist Quote
