-HP- Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 After loling hard at this pic, and loling again. It really made me think about it. It's incredible how FPS games went from being "games", to "interactive cinematic experiences". Not exactly a bad thing, but sometimes you do miss your good old games from the last decade where you needed to explore worlds. Edit: oh and btw: http://vectorpoem.com/news/?p=74 Quote
ElectroSheep Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I played Bioschock 2 a few weeks ago and it looks more like a "1993 fps game" Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 There's always Serious Sam. Quote

Thrik Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Still looks like the alyx model. Haha, I see what you mean! I never noticed Valve ripped that off so blatantly. Quote

dux Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 It's fun to wind up d3 Anyway, as for the picture I couldn't agree more after playing Resident Evil 5! It was a nice game but blimey they really do love the cut-scenes and "press button to not die" moments. Quote
AlexM Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 ahahahhah that pic is awesome and now my background. Been playing some quakeworld and FPS'es from that era and boy do I miss them. Quote

Campaignjunkie Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 But what about Minecraft? It's the biggest shakeup of the FPS in a long time. Quote
Erratic Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I'd be surprised if Minecraft is even classified as a game, let alone looked at by developers with anything but wonder as to how it made any money at all. Quote
FrieChamp Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I'd be surprised if Minecraft is even classified as a game, let alone looked at by developers with anything but wonder as to how it made any money at all. It's the creating + sharing part (similar to Garry's mod) that makes it so popular. It's a nice change from the "destroy everything" scenario common in most FPS. I call it "FPS 2.0". See, I just made that up. I'm an industry expert! Quote
