Campaignjunkie
Err, uh, what's the goal of your portfolio here? To land a job? If so, I don't get the point of "modular BSP" -- you're not modeling any real detail and you didn't make the textures... So you want to be a UI designer?... Or write PDFs of games but not actually make them? I'm just not sure if I'm getting it, here...
jaboo224
Yeah, im currently looking for employment. Well the whole point of the modular level was because I had a month to make a level and so i decided to make tilesets out of BSP. I plan to eventually retexture the level and add in models. Im not really gunning for a UI position but im leaving it open if people might be interested in me for it. As for the design documents they are just illustrating my ability to properly document things for development. Thanks for the constructive crits tho, perhaps i should rename modular to tileset bsp or something. hmmmm
Serenius
It might be more accurate to label your modular tileset/models/textures as environment art instead of level design.
Campaignjunkie
Please excuse me being an asshole here, you say you're "still adding stuff" etc. but I'm going to be blunt because I think you'll benefit from it: Design-wise, I think you should simplify your site design a lot more. The two best portfolio's I've seen are insta's (
jaboo224
Yeah i agree with the format, thanks. I know some people directly at the school i went to that got hired from design docs so personally and some of my instructors think its good to keep on there. as for the levels, I am adding more this weekend so hopefully it will fill up. And yeah, i mainly worked QA on insurgency and contributed 2d artwork such as menu's and textures while doing some managing. some of the textures are in the environment art section and the menu is in ui design. Thanks for the advice!
