General Vivi
Thanks for the feedback on my old design guys! really appreciate it Check out the new one and leave feedback if you can! EDIT (10-7-2010) : Went with layout 2 and have updated the main page to reflect that. Also reworking my thumbnail pages due to feedback. Changed my banner from "the portfolio of generalvivi" to " the portfolio of Jason Mojica" (10-13-2010 ) Edit : Main title fixed to reflect my position (10-14-2010) Edit : changed up background and main images to not be pngs so the site will work better in IE. Still need to switch certain images from the professional section. New main page New Thumbnail Page Layout edit : Did anyone notice the "more info" button on the thumbnail page? I'm still up for art changes if you have any suggestions on a layout you like. -vivi
ChopperDave
I voted for #3, but I think it can be even better if you put the thumbnails in a 2x2 square to the right of the banners, and then squish the banners together like you did in #2. If you shrink the banners some, you could even get them all to fit without scrolling. This way you get the quick glance overview 2 provides with the extra taste of media 3 provides. But I'm a programmer without a portfolio who is easily entertained by shiny things, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
u.s.marshal
I voted for #2 because I like the simplified overview. It's easy to navigate and your great work is clearly defined. I'm not a big fan of your "Japanese style" design but it's ok as long as it presents you.
mjens
#1 and #2 are nice
Nysuatro
I prefer 2. Clean and simpel. The third one is a bit to much.
Jenn0_Bing
I voted 2 as well, saves the scroll wheel when looking down the page, whilst still presenting your projects well.
Corwin
I like the third one, although it lacks the zoom feature on the small screens like in #1, and the top menu's red bar is displayed on the same line as the text instead of right under (using the latest firefox)
-HP-
3rd one is a bit cluttered, it would work if it wasnt as busy. I'd go for Layout
Minos
#2 definitely. I hate not being able to tell what I'm going to see before clicking a thumbnail (#1) and #3 feels too cluttered. I also think all gallery pages should be like this: http://www.generalvivi.com/levels/source_maps.html definitely a lot easier to navigate, I hate thumbnails!! -HP-
Yep, no one clicks thumbnails anymore. When I see a gallery with like 10 thumbnails on it, i end up clicking on 2 or 3 and skip the others. Whereas with all the content on one page, i only need to scroll down and i actually end up seeing everything.
General Vivi
(10-7-2010) : Went with layout 2 and have updated the main page to reflect that. Also reworking my thumbnail pages due to feedback. Changed my banner from "the portfolio of generalvivi" to " the portfolio of Jason Mojica" New main page New Thumbnail Page Layout edit : still need to update the rest of my site to reflect these new thumbnail changes. I would like some feedback on the new layout first before moving on.
deceiver
Looks good to me! Thumbnails are big enough to not need to look at them fullsize unless you really want to, so that's cool. My one little niggle for your whole site so far though is that you don't write it anywhere except in your resume that you're a Level Designer/Environment Artist. Looking at your site the first time and at the screenshots you posted, I wasn't sure what kind of position you were looking for. You should maybe write what was your position for each game as well? Unless that falls into updating the rest of the site after layout approval =P.
General Vivi
good feedback! Ill make those changes asap! Definitely want to be a level designer... perhaps I just need to put it in my title . (10-13-2010 ) Edit : Main title fixed to reflect my position
Skjalg
Change the font in your resume section to something other than times new roman. it looks balls
Nysuatro
I am not sure but did you saved your images for the web? The site is kinda loading slow.
