Zacker
The latest version of Unity was just released: http://unity3d.com/ If you haven't tried it yet then you really should! It's completely free, very easy to use and yet cool enough to make games like this: http://piratesofnewhorizons.com/ Also, anyone who plan on attending the Unite '10 conference in Montreal? I will be going there to do a bit of talking, so would be great to meet up with any mapcorians. http://unity3d.com/unite/

arhurt
Aquiris will be giving a keynote with the post-mortem of the Unity Bootcamp and *maaaaaybe* show off a little bit of the FPS we are working on... Unfortunately I won't be attending the conference... someone gotta stay behind and make some levels But if you guys get a chance to talk to Amilton or Mauricio, they know the engine inside out and should be able to give a LOT of advice. Drop my name and you get extra credits

Skjalg
I was actually thinking of releasing a lot of scripts that you could use in a few weeks for unity.
Warby
the question is if there is still a point to it now that unity 3 has all those features that we painstakingly implemented ourselves like passive elevator movement sliding slope limits etc ! Zacker
Thanks for that advice Arhurt! @Tisky, we will be releasing our entity framework at some point, hopefully during Unite, which will allow you to set up gameplay without actually writing code. Campaignjunkie
@Tisky, we will be releasing our entity framework at some point, hopefully during Unite, which will allow you to set up gameplay without actually writing code. Are there robust pre-made freely available FPS frameworks anyone can use out there? Because if so, I might start doing some Unity stuff... You're staying in Montreal until when that week?

It all comes with Unity now (no need to even search the forums or wiki for those scripts). When you make a new project you just choose to use the Character Controller assets package.
