2d-chris Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 Oh hello! funny enough i was looking at some of your maps a few weeks back, Great textures btw! Welcome to the Core! Quote
Travis Ward Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Maybe it's just me being stupid, but the TGA zip file contains a lot of files which are only a patterned or detailed layer, but no color or anything underneath. All my metal, brick, etc. textures are just the brick design, but no color/texture underneath, unlike the JPG images on your site. I don't work with textures, so maybe I'm doing something wrong when I open them with PS. Someone please educate me. Quote
Hourences Posted December 16, 2004 Author Report Posted December 16, 2004 hm, could you give me a picture of how you see them ? Trough here or mail or however you want Familiar with alpha channels ? Stupid question but sure youre not looking at an alpha channel ? Quote
Travis Ward Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Thanks for the reply. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about. I'm not too familiar with alpha channels...but in the channels tab, all are selected/being viewed. Flattening it doesn't do anything, either. Quote
Hourences Posted December 16, 2004 Author Report Posted December 16, 2004 Hm ok, what photoshop you have ? Seems like some photoshop feature I myself never used before, auto display alpha+diffuse or something Needs to show up seperatly... So as I never used this "feature" before I dont know how to turn it off, do you have the layer tab on your right ? cant you just click on the layer again ? Any results ? You also have a channels tab, cant you select RGB one in there ? Or try some messing around with the options of channels or layers ? the little arrow top right of the channel/layer window Cant you simply erase the alpha 1 channel otherwise ? Or select your basic layer one and do crtl a (select all), crtl c, crtl n (new document), push ok and crtl v it ? shows up normal then ? weird stuff If anyone else knows how to turn off this thing please tell Quote
Travis Ward Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Heya. I'm using PS 7.0. I'm checked out all the layer and channel properties (there are four channels: RGB, R, G, B), and layers (only one: layer 0). Now, not ALL of the textures only look like this. Just the brick, metal, and some of the wood ones. Well, MOST textures look like this. The only difference that I can see between the ones that look fine is that the layer is named Background and I have no layer options/cannot flatten it. Phew...any ideas? Quote
Hourences Posted December 17, 2004 Author Report Posted December 17, 2004 Er no First time I see this problem The wood ones I didnt even gave an alpha channel.. Did you try the copy paste trick ? Hm, actualy, there is a TGA patch for photoshop 7.0 to 7.0.1 or something I believe, originally the TGA alpha stuff was broken so Adobe released a patch afterwarths, might give it a try ? Could be the cause http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/ ... ftpID=1544 Quote
Travis Ward Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Yeah, I tried the copy and paste :-\ Arg, those links aren't loading! Been waiting for the page to load for 30 minutes! Quote
Hourences Posted December 17, 2004 Author Report Posted December 17, 2004 works here http://www.adobe.com/ Try the main site and then go to -> Products -> All -> Photoshop CS -> On the left Downloads -> Windows Updates -> Find the 7.0 section of PS in the list and look for targa update or http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/pho ... /targa.zip Quote
Travis Ward Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Success! Thanks a lot, man! Great textures, I'll let you know when I've got em in my map. Quote
