Steppenwolf Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Stopped playing Oblivion again after around 40 hours. I came to the conclusion that the balancing of it is completely broken. Even with the mod that i played the game got more difficult with every level up. That's just a motivation killer. You wait and wait to get better to finaly go back into some dungeons that were too hard at the beginning of the game just to be welcomed by much stronger enemys then the first time. Like in the Shivering islands plugin there is a graveyard or something. When i was level 1 there were 2 easy enemies and one hard one but at least i made it inside. Now i'm level 16 and there are three super hard enemies waiting at the entrance. All i can do is run away and safe my ass as soon as they see me. The game would work much better without any leveling at all and just skill improvements instead. It's really a shame because the first 20-30 hours of a new Oblivion game are always a lot of fun before the same frustrations kick in. Quote
D3ads Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 ":1fmy29oc]I'm replaying Modern Warefare 2 SP atm. Ditto! Also Resistance 2, liking it a lot better than the first one, the scene with San Francisco being invaded is amazing. I can also see more than 3 colours this time! Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Still playing a modded Stalker Call of Pripyat. I find it very amusing that a graphical glitch is properly lit and shadowed for some reason. Thankfully this disappeared after a couple ingame hours (presumably when whatever corpse it used to be faded). Quote
skdr Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Looks like your gpu is overheating. Quote
Bunglo Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Finally started playing Dragon Age after having it for months. Gotta say, this game kicks some serious ass so far, love the art style too. Quote
Steppenwolf Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 I'm really craving for a good rpg right now so i give Morrowind a chance and hope that it is better balanced then Oblivion. Only played it briefly in the past, this is the first time i give it a real chance. It's pretty cool so far. Had to get used first to read a lot of text instead of npc's actualy talking. One thing bothers me tho and maybe someone who played it can tell me if its normal. It seems so easy to make money in this game. I have played two evenings (~12 hours) and i already got like 50k gold and 70 armor. (i played as a thief so that helped to get some good and expensive stuff but most of it i got from selling goblin and dark brotherhood armor) Is that normal? Compared to Oblivion these are crazy numbers. I hope thers gonna be some pretty expensive stuff in the game that i can spent my gold on. At this rate i will be a ingame millionaire in no time. Quote
-HP- Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Why don't you give The Witcher a shot? I really wanna play it soon! I've eard there's awesome mods for it too. Quote

Well you're playing a really good RPG. Mod it up with the high res bodies and textures and you're sorted. If you want something else I've been screaming about the witcher on these forums. And HP has joined me. Can go back to Diablo 2 LoD, Dragon Age again, Fable, Borderlands, Overlord, Blood bowl dark elves edition, while some of those aren't technically RPG's they have all the stats and stuff which is still fun. Still playing a modded Stalker Call of Pripyat. I find it very amusing that a graphical glitch is properly lit and shadowed for some reason. Steppenwolf Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 I have The Witcher. Didn't felt it the first time i gave it a try. Maybe it's like Dragon Age that it has to grow on me first. Another one i still have to play is Mass Effect 2 but i heard the rpg is super dumbed down so i better play that when i'm in the mood for an action game. Quote
dux Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Stop being a penis and play the witcher. It takes about 2 hours of game time to actually get good. Once you get into the first village shit gets real. Quote
Steppenwolf Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Yea i should give it a try after Morrowind. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 It's not an artifact, it's a model freaking out, it was constantly wiggling and making impact noises. I have a background temp monitor running when I game that sounds an alarm when my gpu crosses 90c, and it didn't go off. Quote
syver Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Here are some mods you can download to make it look better. Quote
Grinwhrl Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Went back to Warhammer online with abunch of friends from work. Though the game was dead, but its actually booming quiet well. I would love to see bio/mythic put more time into it though. Quote
