Jetsetlemming Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Morrowind was the nuts, Oblivion was good, just not as good as it could have been. Fallout on the other hand I think was not too bad at all; certainly a step up from oblivion. it was still nothing compared to the old games. the same goes for new vegas (which, incidentally, is a step up from fallout (thank you, obsidian's art department!!!)). the worst thing about new vegas though, is that they changed the perks and skills you can get, how they work, and how they skill up (tag skills don't level up by themselves, which essentially makes them... regular skills?) Tagging a skill is a sort of background choice: It just makes that skill start 15 pt higher than normal. Even in Fallout 1 and 2 tagged skills didn't level up by themselves, you they just went up 2 points for every 1 skill point you spent on them. "learning by doing" has never been a Fallout thing. Though in New Vegas you can get damage perks against bugs, super mutants, a general "lord of death" one, and some others by killing things. I'm on Bug Stomper Rank 3 right now, which means I do either 15% or 30% extra damage to bugs (can't remember which ) Quote

insta Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 I bought The Ball yesterday and played it for well over 2 hours. It was a bit slow at first, but it's getting better and better as I go. Big congrats to Hourences and the team for getting it released, seems like a huge achievement Quote
sarge mat Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 New Vegas at the moment. No longer being at home costs a lot more, so less games Quote
Steppenwolf Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 I'm playing Fallout 2! I never played the first two Fallouts, well i tried but didn't got into them. This time i forced myself despite hating the clunky gameplay. Now after like 10-15 hours i start to really like the game. The gameplay still sucks imo but the game world and story becomes really addicting. From my "neutral" perspective a lot of the hate that Fallout 3 gets is unfounded because i recognise so many elements. Imo both games are pretty good. FO2 seems to have a deeper story but FO3 has better gameplay. Quote
-HP- Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Playing inFamous and God of War 3 atm! Infamous looks mediocre but plays very fluidly and it's a really neat sandbox arcade game. God of War 3, is... well, one of the most epic game i've seen, and I only played a few minutes. Quote
syver Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 God of War 3 is pretty awesome, at least for the first 4-5 hours. I just finished Kirby's Epic Yarn and it's one of the best games I've played this year. I'm trying to figure out whether I should start Castlevania or give Enslaved another chance (every time I play it I just lose interest after 15 minutes). Maybe I should finish Amnesia or give Planescape: Torment a chance to see what it's about. I hate playing several games at a time Quote
Nysuatro Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Playing ghostbusters the video game. Kinda laggy game :s But I like the voiceacting and already got some good memories out of it. Quote
madgernader Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Neverwinter nights diamond came out on good old games for $10 so far its money well spent... Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Minecraft has sucked me back in. So far Hell seems safer than normal world spelunking, with the increased enemy spawns in deep caves, while Hell has safe spots under low overhangs where the only default hostile spawn can't get to you. No water or pigs in hell though. Just lava and pig zombies. Quote
dux Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 35 hours invested into new vegas so far, haven't even gone to new vegas itself yet. Quote
Pampers Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 titan quest with buddies, bought it on steam sale Quote
Thrik Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Made a start on Fable 3. As a long-time Fable fan it appears to be more of the same but still excellent and things have been changed for the better in most cases. Quote
Serenius Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 ":2c83bpaq]God of War 3, is... well, one of the most epic game i've seen, and I only played a few minutes. If the entire game was as good as the first few hours, it would easily be the #1 game of all time. Quote
Thrik Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 God of War 3 was awesome the whole way through, man! Probably a perfect example of how to do that type of game IMO. Quote
