Grinwhrl Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 While I may be seen as an arrogant ass on these here forums I just wanted to say thank you to my fellow mapcore friends. It has been 10+ years for some of us and if it were not for your constant pushing etc.. I would not be a part of this industry. So I honored you all with mention in the credits Awww, thank you Wacko - i may now have to be proper nerd and tell people the irc screen thats always on my desktop has achieved credit stats in a little game called starcraft2 wow, sweet Wacko! Will pick up a copy later this week. Quote
Zyn Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Oh god, the hologram dancer in the cantina is doing the female Night Elf dance. Quote
dux Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Cut scenes are my favourite part of the game so far. Which is odd for a game. Quote
Grinwhrl Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Cut scenes are my favourite part of the game so far. Which is odd for a game. Not really for a blizz game, since warcraft 1, 2, starcraft and diablo 2, I thought the same thing. Quote
FrieChamp Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Awesome wacko, I can feel the love! Congrats to the release! I'll launch the first mission right....now! Quote
alecmoody Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 my download is going soo slow. Its going to take 24 hours at this rate. Quote
Bunglo Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 I've been on vacation for the past two weeks, coming home later tonight. Debating if I should pick the game up here or head to the store as soon as I get home Quote
dux Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 I'm glad I didn't buy this digitally, it's a lotta gigawhattabytes. Quote
wilco Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Played first few levels, seems pretty awesome so far :-) oh, and im "wilco" id "125" if anyone wants to add. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Played the first two missions. Had fun. The game defaulted to all Highs for me, with one Medium (the effects one with high being Dof, it wouldn't let me select anything but low and medium". Shadows at this setting look shitty, that hatched effect on their edges. I set everything to the "Ultra" preset option and now shadows look far better cause the edges are blurred. No noticeable performance difference either. Woo. I also learned my first "How not to suck" lesson: When you've got a big group of guys in a small space and order them to attack a dude, they'll only move close enough for the front guys to be in attack range, leaving the guys in the back all jammed up and unable to help in the fight. In that situation I should always order the group to manually move in close enough for everyone to reach before giving the attack command. Science! Quote
-HP- Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 http://www.gametrailers.com/video/campa ... -ii/702221 Nice sountrack and sound-fx! Not really my type of game tho, never been into RTS's. But damn, we're on the credits, now I need to buy it! Cheers wacko! Quote
Skacky Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Cheers wacko! I absolutely love the campaign so far (I played like 20 missions) and yeah the cutscenes are awesome. The UNN reports are hilarious by the way, especially when Raynor adds a bitter comment afterwards about Donny Vermilion. Tychus and Tosh are my favorite characters, even if I was suspicious about Tosh's motives at first. By the way my account is skacky / 697 on EU, if you ever want to play, I'm your man. Quote
Skjalg Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Cool of you wacko The game is AWESOME. I just completed it on hard, playing through some of the missions now to get the achievements The ending is everything that I hoped for, I really really am glad that they did this with the story <3 Theres a couple of choices you have to make a long the way. I selected to side with Tosh when that choice came up, but I never ended up using his specialist units. At the end you get the choice to neutrialize air (mutas & broodlords) or ground (nydus). I chose to destroy air, because I hate facing broodlords. On the very last mission, I tried doing as I always did: Just massing thors and having scv's repairing them. It didnt work out so well because the nydus' that spawn nubs overran me every time. I instead opted to mass battlecruisers and just send two to each nydus when they spawned and that made everything a lot easier. Quote
Mazy Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Wow Skjalg, you're a machine! I'm only on like my 9th mission, and I've been playing it a lot, I thought Quote
Nysuatro Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 Just bought it. But first have to finish Mass Effect 1 and 2 and read dead redemption. Quote
