PogoP Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Watched ep 4 today, it's nowhere near as exciting as it started out! Still it's interesting, gonna get to the end at least. Quote
Steppenwolf Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 I like it more and more with every episode. Had to get used to the slower pace first but the quirky characters are great. It starts to stand on its own legs. Quote
D3ads Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 I didn't realise this had started, good job my sister has netflix! *grabs popcorn* Quote
El Moroes Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Ok, I'll start to watch this serie soon Quote
Sprony Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 Well, we continued. The second half of season 4 is excellent. The finale is a masterpiece. Plus, Skylar is finally submissive and not that annoying anymore. I have to give mad props to the writers. It's all just so original and well thought out. Like everything is pure genius. How they handled the cartel for instance. Holy shit, that was good. We're now at season 5 episode 5.I'm convinced that this will go down badly for everybody. There's simply no way that Hank won't figure out who Walt is and when he does, all hell will break loose I suppose. I don't see the partnership with Mike working out in the long run. While he's my favorite character I'm pretty sure he'll die. However, for some odd reason, I don't think it will be because of Walt. Can't explain why though. By now, I want to continue watching but it has become so dark. I'm convinced that everybody is going to die (Walt, Mike, Hank). Jessie will probably be the only one to survive just to fuck with him some more. Because boy, he really got a shitty deal. I feel for the guy. Also, Walt has become such an terrible cunt. Despicable really. Can't root for him anymore. In fact, he's become such a dick that I'm starting to feel bad for Skylar. That's saying something seeing how I despise her. I think she'll be left with her family and her sister when the empire finally collapses. The rest we are going to be bury. Jessie will probably end up in jail. I kinda wish it would have a happier ending but I just don't see that happening. Quote
blackdog Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 Yeah, I'm convinced that the central theme for the writers was to show how people change with money and power. 1488, D3ads and El Moroes 3 Quote
Sprony Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 So Mike died. Not how I expected. Still, sad to see him go. Hank finally figured it out. I wonder what will happen next. I take it he will pressure Skylar but she can't say anything without incriminating herself and thus losing custody over her children. Maybe he'll try Pinkman seeing as how his guilt is eating him up. The prison massacre was awesome. Reminded me of Blood in Blood Out. Or Bound by Honor depending on where you live. With 7 episodes to go, I'm worried where it will end. Now it's time that Jessie finds out about Brock and stuff. I think it would be justice if he kills Walt. Because he ruined his life. I never expected Jessie, based on the first season, to be the voice of reason. The one with a conscience. Superb writing overall. I'll probably finish it somewhere this week. What a run. It's not the best show I every saw but it's close. I heard it costs 3 million per episode to make. If that's true (afraid to Google in case of spoilers) I don't understand why. They shot it where they got good tax benefits. It's usually more character driven. There aren't any big set pieces, loads of action, CGI or whatever. Now, I understand nothing is free and the overall quality is excellent, but 3 million? Come on! Quote
Beck Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 I love the transformation of Walt throughout the show. This video shows it off really well.Spoilers obviously.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BYhzRW4qDMSprony, I wish I was watching BB for the first time again. Enjoy the last few eps! D3ads Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 You're in for a Hell of a ride Sprony, enjoy it whilst it lasts.I wish I could erase my memory and watch Breaking Bad again without knowing what will happen... plus 24, The X-Files and other cult classics.... 2d-chris Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) 3 million per episode sounds about right for a show of this quality and practical on site shooting, I'm assuming they do a lot of on location work, which is very expensive. Each season as the show becomes more popular the contracts of the actors are also renegotiated. Edited July 27, 2015 by 2d-chris Thrik, Sprony, will2k and 3 others 6 Quote
El Moroes Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 I've also finally watched this serie and, indeed it was awesome.I learned how to hate a man I liked at the beginning of the show...they've succeed it on that point. It's crazy to see how he changes and how he can't stop his activity even when the risks are high for him and his familly.Oh, and it brings me some ideas for my "arizona" map (yeah finally ) TheOnlyDoubleF and FMPONE 2 Quote
Sprony Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 I finished it. Episode 14 is by far the best TV episode of any series that I've ever seen. I'm still struggling to find the words for all of this but it's fucking brilliant. The ending is also executed flawlessly. What a ride! Quote
Thrik Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 I got through all of this late last year (or maybe it was this year) and yeah, wow. What a series. It's a weird one though, because it's so mercilessly dark that I don't think I'll ever want to watch it again. Even now, some of the worst moments still haunt me because they're just so unfair on the people who are pulled into Walt's world and ultimately find themselves befallen by terrible fates......obvious examples off the top of my head being that child who Todd kills, both of Jessie's lovers, and Hank.Still, as @blackdog and @El Moroes said, it's a magnificent story that charts the moral downfall of a man who started out as very easy to like and sympathise with, and ultimately becomes both a monster and somebody who brings hell to those whose lives he touches — whether directly or indirectly. Truly a lamentable character by the end.Now you've got Better Call Saul to watch I guess? It's not (yet) reached anything like Breaking Bad's stature, but it lays the groundwork for something that could become very good. Quote

I need to watch a lot of comedy after this Quote
blackdog Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) I just want to revise my previous statement about "change" a man goes through when money is involved. I was somehow reminded by @Thrik's post -- although he doesn't talk about that, I remember discussing it with other people.Walter doesn't really change, I mean, sure he was never a man able to kill when he started, but his true nature was unmasked when confronting the old friend of the startup: to me he looks like he had always been greedy. He doesn't regret not "making it" in terms of being famous, just the money. Money is the way to measure power to him. (Frank Underwood would be disappointed ahem) Edited August 3, 2015 by blackdog Sprony 1 Quote
