Any thoughts on the game so far? I think the art style fits this type of Zelda game fairly well. Not pure cell shaded but also not titled too much toward realism.

Not too sure if I feel like using the remote control as a sword, they better have the option to go oldskeewel. I don't even have a wii though so if I do end up getting one, it'll probably be because of this game... maybe.

Twillight Princess is the game I've given the most chances ever (10 times, to be precise), and never ended up finishing. I just kept taking a week long break with something else, and tried getting back in with no luck. It wasn't really bad, but I Just couldn't play a game that clearly craved some hi-res graphics, voice acting and a grand score. It just felt like something you'd find acceptable for a handheld Zelda game, not proper console Zelda. And also the Wii controls just didn't feel very good.

Anyway, the demonstration at the Nintendo conference was pretty embarrassing, but it was clearly a setup issue rather than an actual mechanic game thing (I hope!). However the way they handled it just made it worse, pretending that there wasn't an issue while Miyamoto tried to do a vertical slice and ended up being unable to do so and instead doing 10 horizontal ones in a row.

I can already say now that I'm not gonna play it. It has to be some major universal 10/10 stuff to change my mind, Twillight Princess just left such a sour taste in my mouth that it's gonna take a completely new take on this series to wash it away.

Mm, can't say I'm excited. It looks like a weird mix between Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker (both absolutely amazing Zelda games btw, probably best in the whole series) aesthetically, and the gameplay seems fairly predictable. I can see what they're trying to do with the art style, but it... just doesn't look that good. I saw some Japanese game based on some cartoon recently that did something very similar artistically but just looked a million times better (albeit on the PS3).

Ah well I'll still get it as I haven't missed a home console Zelda since Ocarina, and to be fair all of them have been fairly incredible — including Twilight Princess. It's just with this now being the third Zelda on pretty much the same GameCube hardware I agree with Mazy in that it's just not doing the creative vision justice.

I'm not a hundred percent convinced by the graphic style but I'm not worried for this zelda, each etpisode always benefits a very solid gameplay that makes it very fun to play. Besides, I disliked the style of windwaker yet but I loved it (especially sailing).

The problem for me now, I'll probably miss a lot Midna for all next Zelda :(
