Microfone helps!

I hooked my computer up myself and it runs fine and all, but when I put my microphone pink jack into the hole where it belongs (ok no sex references please) no one can hear me, and it's not my mic.

its an ASUS a8v deluxe not sure, anyone help? :/

Check if your line-in or microphone channels aren't muted in your Windows sound mixer, or whatever program you're using to mix your volumes under Windows.

I had this problem, install the sound drivers for your motherboard
