PogoP Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Fighting games suck. I bought a Snes a while back and tried playing Mortal Kombat and was bored out of my brain. Can't please everyone I spose! Quote
-HP- Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Can it be that they nailed it this time? PogoP, WAT! I played the shit outta every single MK released until MK Trilogy! (Best one of them all, and it was released for PSX, oh god! good old times, i knew every single fucking fatality!) Quote
Grinwhrl Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Looks really good, back to the basics finally. I hoep there will be an iphone version. Quote
PogoP Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 I can see the appeal if, say, you played it with friends... But even then, me and my housemates sat down and played it on the Snes a few weeks back and we turned it off after 15 mins! I would change what I said to 'Mortal Kombat sucks', but I tried Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe too, as well as some others and hated them! Quote
st0lve Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Is this a full game or something for XBL and PSN? Quote
Taylor Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Mortal Kombat has always been more of a cheesy gore simulator than a fighting game. It was awesome when you were 12. Heads comin' off. Though the SNES version was a rather bad port and had the blood cut out (IIRC)! Quote
Mazy Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Looks decent, and I really used to dig MK back in the day. Played a shit ton of MK2 and MK3, great games, even in single-player. But really, if I wanna play a fighting game these days I'll go with Soul Calibur 3 any day (Screw 4, they fucked up my Seong Mi-na!) Quote
Serenius Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 7 sequels later, could they finally be approaching the greatness that was Mortal Kombat 2 again? Quote
AlexM Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 7 sequels later, could they finally be approaching the greatness that was Mortal Kombat 2 again? took the words right out of my mouth I doubt anything will be taking away from my SSF4 time for more than a half hour though. Quote
Taylor Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 It's a scary thought that this'll probably have more depth and speed than SSFIV. To be honest, the only fighter I want to see is Guilty Gear XX AC released with online play. It remains the deepest, most varied and balanced fighter out there by a long, long way and it’s a crying shame nobody the mainstream has even heard of it. Quote
MJ Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 yes no more shitty 3d MK's this one might actually turn out good Quote
D3ads Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 This actually does look rather good.. but needs more blood. Quote
AlexM Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 It's a scary thought that this'll probably have more depth and speed than SSFIV. you get burned ? guilty gear is pretty good, I liked the art more than the game though. Same deal with BlazBlu Quote
Taylor Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 It's a scary thought that this'll probably have more depth and speed than SSFIV. you get burned ? What does this even mean? I think I phrased that badly, there's nothing wrong with having a small rule set, slower pace, and a reward for being hit in the face. It's a personal preference only. guilty gear is pretty good, I liked the art more than the game though. Same deal with BlazBlu I hyped up BlazBlue and walked away disappointed, but I’m not going to go into detail here. Guilty Gear’s gameplay has a changed a lot over its iterations but it’s only become more uncompromising. But that’s why it’s awesome, well, along with the character-designs and crazy metal. Quote
