(i took the pick with my phone!)

I have that same couch. THE BRICK?

oh and to stay on topic .... has anyone experienced any reception issues with the iphone 4?

Yes Klein. While my reception has generally been excellent with the iPhone 4 (it consistently gets better signals than the LG one I had before, especially when in my pocket), touching a certain area in the bottom left corner will reduce the signal to pretty much zero.

If you look at the circle drawn on the phone at about 9:20 in the video above that's pretty much the death zone. If you rest any finger within that area you're basically guaranteed to lose your entire signal and drop your call. I've experimented and even going a little outside that circle doesn't cause problems, nor does bridging the entire circle with two fingers (ie: putting one finger either side of the circle) — and it isn't the black seam that causes it because it still occurs even if you only touch the metal immediately next to it. Not sure what hardware madness is going on exactly but that circle is like an off switch for the signal.

I've learnt to avoid the circle relatively easily by simply tucking my little finger behind the phone while taking a call, but it's definitely an annoyance. The phone truly excels in literally every other way though so I can't say it'd make me return it (for any lesser phone I would).

that sucks thrik :/ btw what steve jobs said about other phones having the same problem is completely bs.... most phones don't have the antenna in the sidebar but at the bottom of the phone or elsewhere (in an area the consumer is not likely to touch while making a call)

It's not totally BS. I've tried the grip thing on other phones and it works. It drops down bars, just like iPhone. iPhone 4 just happens to have a smaller spot that causes the drop.

Touching that spot nearly got me killed the other day because my gf was crying on the phone about work and the signal died and cut her off — twice.

Really?! Ok, i'm so not getting an iphone4 now! :( Too bad, I kinda like the design.

Pets my iphone3G (When it returns from getting fixed that is, lol)

You can already get Espgaluda 2 on the iPhone and, despite the small touch sensitive screen, it plays really well. This was almost enough to make me buy one. Now Cave just announced

for the iPhone, and possibly the earlier titles in the series. I know mapcore doesn't really get excited for this stuff, but it's an amazing game in the succession of titles that created and lead the bullet puke shmup subgenre. I imagine it’ll cost around £7

and the arcade board I totally did not buy was almost a hundred times that

Decided to post stage 1 instead of the usual impossible TTTFB.

£270 + £30 a month... Must resist.

i came to my real home for a week and have been making a lot of phone calls and doing stuff and i'm consistently having people tell me over the phone that i'm hard to clear, breaking up and ultimately drop the calls. even when i hold the phone with my right hand, very high up. its incredibly frustration. also, i live on long island which is extremely populated and you'd expect to have great service however i was in 2 separate places yesterday and had absolutely no service. i had a suspicion that i had lower than normal bars so i stole my dad's 3gs for a while and drove around and i consistently had one or two bars less on the 4, and this is without touching either phone. i'm starting to get unhappy and i doubt that a case will resolve this. i don't see the 4 as much of an upgrade to a 3gs and if this continues bothering me maybe i'll downgrade to the 3gs.

or get a droid and enjoy the world of open source and great reception.

Had a quick go with it yesterday when I was running around sorting out a replacement for my one day old 3gs (speaker went). Yea its a lot smaller than I though but more than happy with a 3GS tbh. Can't really afford or justify the extra cash for one.
