Izuno Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Quick question, can anyone think of a game with multi-player gameplay that does not have integrated voice chat in it? I know in WoW most people use vent as the ingame voice chat is less popular, but of the recent shooters (with MP) and MMOs out there do any of them not feature VOIP? And on consoles, I can't think of any recent shooter game with MP that doesn't have voice chat integrated into the game...all you need is a microphone. Isn't the voip in MP games a feature of Xbox Live / PSN? Thanks for any input. Quote
Serenius Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 I think all Xbox 360 games with multi-player are required to have VOIP. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Off the top of my head all that comes to mind is Deus Ex (from the MP patch in late 2001) and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory from 2003 (afaik none of the Quake 3 based games had voice chat). Quote

Taylor Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 It's not actually that standard in MMO's. Never played many online games on the console without it and I assume it's integrated to some extent, but there are exceptions (i.e. Demon's Souls). Quote
kleinluka Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 I know a lot of people who still use 3rd part VOIP apps such as Ventrilo even if there's built-in VOIP in the game itself. Personally I prefer to just use the built-in VOIP... Quote
deceiver Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Yeah, sometimes the in-game sounds drown out the vent mics, so I'd rather use the in-game one that drowns out the in-game sounds when someone talks. Quote
