Thrik Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Wow, not just the president — it looks like a number of key government figures were in the plane too. Not good for a country. Quote
Zyn Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 This is the sort of thing you normally only have silly theories about, like "What would happen if...?". And now it's very real. Really wonder how they are going to tackle this one. Quote
-HP- Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 This is unbelievable! Rest in peace! And good luck for Poland, this is a terrible day for this country so I hope they manage to unite and get through this. Quote
Sentura Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 was he the one with the brother as a bishop or other high ranking religious minister? if so, i have mixed feelings about this... also, the way that that many official died at the same time smells like a conspiracy theorist's wet dream Quote
e-freak Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 his twin brother was prime minister of poland for a long time. and there ain't no need for "mixed feelings" equivalent to what your brother does or not. this is a serious issue for poland, half theyr military chief staff being dead and the highest representant of the country. Sentura prooves today that he can be dick even during times like this. I wasn't supporter of current President nor his office members/representatives. But that doesn't change the fact that you should read up a bit before writing was he the one with the brother as a bishop or other high ranking religious minister? if so, i have mixed feelings about this... which i find quite out of place to say atleast. His twin brother was indeed prime minister as e-freak said for years 2006-2007. The president was about to finish his 5year term later this year. By the way Sentura, by typing your posts using this verbal tone you show completely no respect to death of almost 100 people, Good Job. All of military heads indeed died in this accident. Everything is in the CNN article anyway, care to read before you post your opinion. Quote
Sentura Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 i'm not going to argue in a thread like this, consider that my respects. i'm not saying i don't think it's sad or a tragedy; in fact i do think it is a grave loss for poland. Quote
sarge mat Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I think the PM holds the power all over their so its not quite the same as if it happened in the US for example. Its still a massively bad thing loads of MP's and top as well as the top General's. Very sad. Even beyond the massive loss of life this is going to effect a lot of people for a long time. You have to ask why in 2010 are the top official's not only flying around in the same plane at the same time but also in one designed in the 60's. Quote
mjens Posted April 10, 2010 Author Report Posted April 10, 2010 The plane was built in '90 and modernised but it's still old construction. In the Polisj TV news some experts said that Tu-154M (that plane) is really hard do steer and it feels like a rock when steering. It also couldn't get high throttle to accelerate on low heights. As some Polish politicians said that policitcs are the background and we should think about the victums as people, not as politicians... It's really hard to understand that. I'm still thinking that this is a stupid dream or someone survived the crash... Quote
