Erm, CS4 features also looked amazing on paper and videos and turned out shit in the end.

edit: on a related note I seem to remember some guy(s) who developed a plug-in for cs that looked performed remarkably similar to this... I wonder if they went on to work for adobe? I'll try to dig it up.

I was more impressed when it was presented in its original form:

(if I remember correctly the guys that wrote that now work at adobe). This just seems like an extrapolation of that original functionality, only this yields more texture repetition due to the nature of the operation (an area at a time, rather than a 1-pixel-width line at a time).

CS4 is fine, tabs are great. Just don't run it on your netbook.

best thing about CS5 is that it wil finally have brushes that can smudge as well.. great for painting! Been waiting on this feature for years =).
