D3ads Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 A casting call for the next Call Of Duty has revealed that the game will take place in Vietnam, VG247 reports. Publisher Activision is advertising for an actor to record voice-over and motion capture work for a character named Frank Barnes, who is part of an elite Vietnam unit, the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam - Studies and Observations Group. The listing gave an outline of each of the main characters. Barnes is described as "a fiercely patriotic veteran of WW2... A solid leader, possessed with an excellent ability to assess and respond to any situation quickly and decisively." Other characters listed in the ad include Joseph Lewis, a "very physically fit" black man in his 20s, Jason Hudson, a white man in his 30s with "over 15 years of military experience, making him an excellent tactician and mission co-coordinator", and Kristina Ivanova, a Russian-born martial artist and CIA operative who is "calm to the point of being cold and detached". An official announcement on Activision's upcoming Call Of Duty instalment is expected to arrive soon. The game is slated for released during the Christmas period. On one hand... fuck yeah! but err... not sure about that bit in bold... in fact... what the merry fuck?! Quote
Sentura Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 how can you be this hyped by the umpteenth sequel in the series? Quote
-HP- Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 It will sell badly in the states, after all they lost this war... Quote
st0lve Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Females in frontline combat during the Vietnam war? I bet that she got some major tits, to boost sales. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I tried WaW the other day and it ran so bad compared to COD4 it was unplayable. I don't know how they could get such wildly divergent results from the exact same engine. I can't even find the config .ini to try and turn off whatever mandatory special effects are running to make the whole game look monotone and run in super slo-mo. What I guess I'm saying is fuck Treyarch Quote
st0lve Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Don't get my wrong, I think the Vietnam war is really interesting, probably because it was an mix between regular "invasion" warfare mixed with todays insurgency warfare. As well as dedicated units\roles that only existed during that war (like Tunnel Rats), and the equipment and weapons used during the war. But IMHO, from what I've seen in the other COD games, I doubt that I'll buy it, because I don't think they'll manage to pull of a proper jungel feeling and\or semi realistic mission. I expect more "VC Zombies" etc. for now. Prove me wrong... Quote
Grinwhrl Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Treyarch should just make a good zombie game. Quote
D3ads Posted February 26, 2010 Author Report Posted February 26, 2010 How about the best of both worlds? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shellshock_2 Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Wait, this is a Treyarch cod, right? It would be pretty weird if IW went back in time now. Though if they announced that their next cod was finally going back to address the end of COD2 I'd laugh pretty hard. Quote
Psy Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Oh wow. I simply cannot wait for this! This is going to be thee aesudansocvnjsjsawadsdmnasdasdasda. Fucking yawn. Quote
