Steppenwolf
I found this yesterday: http://www.icheckmovies.com/ It allows you to keep track of the movies that you have seen. Just click any movies on the many lists that you have seen and the website automaticaly compares your own selection with all the other lists (for example imdb top 250, They Shoot Pictures 1000 etc.). It's a great way to not just remember what you have seen but also to find many gems of interesting movies to watch. The only disadvantage i found is that most lists have a heavy Hollywood bias. There are a few that have lots of foreign movies but it's mostly the exceptionally great ones or the artsy ones. Hard to find good european comedy movies like the Bud Spencer, Louis de Funes or Astrid Lindgren movies for example. If you register post your user names here so we can share our lists. Mine is Flowneppets.

Duff-e
http://www.theauteurs.com/films Probably the most comprehensive list of best films on the internet. The forum is also amazing. If you're not willing to watch black and white foreign films it's probably not for you.

Mine is Flowneppets. uh IMDB has that feature. All you have to do is rating the movies. -HP-
Exactly, I'm one of those guys that always go to imdb after watching a film, and vote for it. therefore, i keep track of everything I watch.
Steppenwolf
You can import your list from imdb! The difference is that this website features all important movie top lists of the english speaking hemisphere (not just imdb) and automatically compares your watched movies with them. It's a great tool if you want to see some stats and to get more ideas for movies to watch. All the movies are also linked to their imdb profile. Don't see it as competition to imdb, it's a great extension of it. edit: This is how my imdb stats look like for example.

Duff-e
np For anyone who hasn't checked it out yet here's a good example of how awesome theauteurs is. http://www.theauteurs.com/films/303 Every movie has a synopsis, director profile, facebook style wall for users to talk about, articles about the film, related films, related lists, user reviews and related forum posts about the film. I spent about 8 months catching up with all the information on this site. They even host around 100 obscure weird ass films that are available for free. freeeeeeeeeeeee

Steppenwolf
I should probably try to compile a list on imdb one day because they really have everything. I have no idea where to begin tho. I rated movies there for a while but only kept track of the ones i rated 8 or higher. I tracked down nearly 500 movies on the website that i posted in the OP but thats only the ones that are listed in top lists somewhere. So in reality i must have seen a lot more. Not sure if i can find the motivation to track them all down on imdb. For now i have other "projects" running for my movie addiction. I try to watch every single Clint Eastwood movie (35 seen so far). Thats project one. Project two is to widen my horizon by watching more classic movies. I watch a lot from the 50's to 70's right now and it's great.
Skjalg
Why didn't someone make an extension for facebook with these exact same features instead?
