This is really interesting. It's kind of a brain teaser.

Condition : You must do this in your head. Don't use paper to write out the problem.

Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000.

Now add 30. And another 1000.

Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10.

What is the total?

Did you get 5000? Most people do, but the correct answer is actually 4100. If you don't believe me, try using a calculator or writing it on paper.

I also got it right, it was however quite interesting as I for a 1/100th second I did consider 5000 before ending on on 4100.

i got it right as well but before revealing the spoiler text i did query my brain did i just jump form tenth to hundreads or from hundreath to thousends ... nah i went from tens to hundreds i assured myself and i was correct

I even watched the spoiler before I tried, I still got the wrong answer (

).

But I have no idea on how I got it wrong. If I take all the 1000s, then just add the smaller numbers it gives me the correct number, but not when I do them in the direction it's written
