Game of the Year: Demon's Souls

While often described as amazingly difficult and cruel Demon’s Souls is really neither. Demon’s Souls simply lacks any kind of empathy and systematically punishes mistakes to a harsh degree, and this works because every single death that happens in the game is a result of you not paying enough attention opposed to reactions, luck or reading something wrong. It also comes with innovative online allowing players to leave each other notes, party up and invade each others games. Even though it lacks any kind of scripted sequence or music, it also succeeds in being one of the scariest games this generation. Not because you are worried what vent the next alien is going to jump out of, but because you do not want to die. It would suck if every game is Demon’s Souls, but I’m glad there’s one.

My Game of the Year 2009 would be Plants vs Zombies.

Playing it at the moment, and after 10 hours of playing I've actually started to like it. Definitely takes a lot of endurance though, you need to know what you're going into, plus not having a life really helps D:

Haha reading it now that looked like it was meant as an insult, was meant as a self deprecating comment. I don't mean to imply that you don't have a life Tayl0r .

But I do have a hard time seeing myself playing this game if I didn't dedicate as much time for gaming as I do. It's rare these days that I sit through over 5 hours of a game that I really dislike in order to prove something to myself and others.

Anyway, slight derail, it's a good game but probably not for everyone

I've made 2 attempts at Demons Souls so far. I don't even know if I've given up on the second try, I just don't know...

The atmosphere alone is enough to make you want to kill yourself.

2. Ghostbusters: The Game

4. Tiger Woods 10 (on Wii with new WiiMotionPlus, for the Nintendo Wii! :roll: )

5. Conquest (iPhone) it's a Risk knockoff

biggest disappointment: Brutal Legend...wait...scratch that.

The biggest disappointment/missed opportunity has to be the Avatar game which I am predicting sold shit in December. I mean, this is the first movie that I said upon walking out of it "I want to play that in a game." And then the game sucked. But didn't we all know that when at E3 they showed nothing to the public and instead had James Cameron up there rambling on for 30 minutes? No offense to Ubisoft, I still love thee but next time a billion dollar action/sci-fi movie comes your way, make a better game.
