Duff-e Posted December 29, 2009 Author Report Posted December 29, 2009 It's silly but it can and does cost people jobs. There are a lot of losers who like getting their nose in other peoples personal shit. Quote
Pampers Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 this is why you choose a nick like mine =) Quote
Thrik Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 I'll change it if you like Duffy, it should change any past occurrences of your name. I can vouch for employers doing this. In fact, they had my name typed up in Google on a computer next to the interview area while I was sat down for the interview! With that said, I think all but the most serious of companies isn't going to take what they find too seriously — everyone has a social life and acts in a way they'd never act in a professional setting, after all. Getting rid of particularly incriminating things is probably for the best, but as long as you don't act like a serious moron on the web I doubt you'll face any real repurcussions. Quote
Nysuatro Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 I just checked myself to be sure Quote
Taylor Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Heh, my old e-thug antics are here if you search back far enough. Mapcore keeping stuff from so far back is damning! Quote
Skjalg Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Ahaha this thread reminds me of a phone call I received from a worrying mum. She had tried to search for me on google and found the awesome videos of me not beeing able to put a car into gear and sliding downhill on the road on the ice (damn you google and youtube!!). But yeah, any game employer that is looking for a 100% serious character to join their ranks are looking for the wrong guy. Quote
Duff-e Posted December 30, 2009 Author Report Posted December 30, 2009 Man I just hit the bong like 30 minutes ago and saw my name in this thread. Everyone is gonna think it's a play wall-e.....fuck. Quote
Zacker Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 If a company is willing to perform in-depth research such as checking out forum posts then I also assume them to be qualified enough to know not to trust everything on the internets. If not, then I couldn't care to work for them anyway. Nice play on Wall-e, Duff-e! Quote
