Duff-e Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 You know how secular people hate religious people because they force their morals down our throats, making things like gay marriage and abortion illegal? Well religious people hate that on Christmas us secular people 1) get paid for nothing 2) get massively drunk 3) worship false idols in the form of expensive gifts 4) get time off 5) get REALLY drunk and defecate on the steps of a funeral home at 4am. So take your time off whoever you are and enjoy it, exploit it and revel in it. Religion has taken so much from us, now after 2,000 years we get to be conspicuously debaucherous on one of the most holy days of the calendar. That said I find agnosticism and atheism to be equally as absurd and hilarious. Quote
Steppenwolf Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Jesus (lol), I'm never going to Germany if its like that! Sounds like Afghanistan. It's the state of the world. Not a single country in particular. Quote
Ginger Lord Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Sorry, I really can't see that. Yes the world is fucked up at times, yes religion is fucked up at times. One is not the cause of the other and vice versa. Anyway, Christmas lost its religious meaning to 99.9% of the population before we were even born, and probably our parents too. Scrooge. Edit: Pic of tree tomorrow night when its up. Quote

Sindwiller Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 That said I find agnosticism and atheism to be equally as absurd and hilarious. I'm an Ignostic Ignorasstic? Heh, heh, you said ass. Ignor-ass-tic (seriously though, that's an utterly wrong stem dux, shame on you ) An ignostic is someone who assumes that the definition of "god" is per se defective or incoherent, which is why he thinks that theism, atheism and agnosticism are all absolute rubbish, as all of them are actually based on a defective definition and do not try to clarify the question, "Who/What is god?". I personally don't mind religious people unlike some uneducated atheistic extremists. Obviously, I dislike fanatics and people who evangelize. However, I'd rather see religion as something beautiful in private space, while it's just a tool on a political and societal level agitation, power and ethnopluralism. Quote
Section_Ei8ht Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 I'd imagine the majority of people celebrating Christmas don't really follow Christianity at all... I mean seriously, who thinks about the whole Jesus birth thing? Well, I do... but that's probably because I'm a Christian. Quote
