Lord Ned Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Didn't see anything else. I figure everyone here is always hungry for some game design documentation. Went out and found a 108 page Making of SotC PDF right here: http://www.bruno-urbain.com/resources/m ... f_sotc.pdf I suggest downloading it (Right Click->Save As), as Firefox doesn't play nice and keeps locking up. It's in English, and has pictures. I'm slowly making my way through it and it seems full of both the technical and artistical side of things as to why they chose x and y. Hope this helps someone out there. Quote
D3ads Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 That's really cool, and interesting stuff, thanks for sharing! Quote
Lord Ned Posted November 24, 2009 Author Report Posted November 24, 2009 What's neat is they also reference HL2:Lost Coast's work on HDR. Quote
Mazy Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Ah yeah, I remember seeing this as a fairly unorganized web page at some point, better to have it in a PDF. Some really cool and innovative tech they crafted, at least considering that they were doing on the PS2. Quote
BaRRaKID Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 The article is just 20 pages long actually, the rest of the pages only have the pictures at a bigger res :\ Quote
ElectroSheep Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 I don't play it yet (no don't hit me !!) but I'll jump on it if I find it in a store. Quote
-HP- Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 I only got till the 7th Colossus. It was a borrowed copy I had to return! Such a good game... it excels by it's originality. Quote
Rick_D Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 last year i bought a ps2, ico and sotc because i had never played them through properly. turns out my monitor doesn't have the connections needed to plug the ps2 into it. mother fucker. Quote
-HP- Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Yes, you need a TV with a SCART entrance. Afaik, no computer monitor has that entrance. Recent monitors have HDMI with HDCP though, which you can use to play PS3 and Xbox360. Quote

There's some assorted converters that run you ~$60 I think. You could also stream it into a videocards s-video I believe but then you get a slight delay between button press and it showing up on screen. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0210310742 http://tech.yahoo.com/blog/hughes/3935 http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/95475 ... er-monitor http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe ... f&oq=&aqi= Quote
