I think it finaly "clicked" for me. Started all over again as a mage. The combat frustrated me at my first try but now i get the hang of it and that makes it much more fun. I pause very often and adjust tactics, do a lot of micromanagement. Imo thats the best part of the game.

Also start to see more similarities to Mass Effect now that i'm further in the game.

Have to say tho if this game wasn't by the same guys who made Mass Effect i would have given up already. Actualy had to give this game 6-7 hours to grow on me. Don't think i ever was so patient with a game that i didnt liked initialy.

Nah honestly the depth in this game is awesome. The way you can influence people and your party is excellent. Plus, like stepp said, once you get a feel for the rather deep and involving combat it becomes quite addictive. The way your whole party interacts with eachother is flawless, also. Everyone of them interacts with eachother in conversation, some of it is particularly hilarious, too. One of the exchanges, I recall being about how my dwarf was unhappy about being in his suit of armour as he wanted to give my healer a good seeing too as she liked his taste in Ale. Morrigan, is just so poisonous a character you can't help but admire her writing. My French elf assassin, is a very smooth and humoured talker. The dwarf... well, to quote him during a fight "Excuse me whilst I do my happy dance!" I've clocked 42 hours so far and only 50% through the game. Soooooooo worth my monies.

PLUS this game has so many voices for everyone it's great! No Oblivion syndrome here.

The fact that its made by the same people who made Mass Effect (which i love). Also the pretty good reviews. So even tho i didnt liked it first there was still a lot of reason to hope that it gets better.

It's awesome but I'm kind of pissed of with the amount of crashes I'm getting, the piss poor save system ... only will save when you enter combat not when traveling between zones etc and the typical bioware boss fights that I hated in Kotor, if you don't have the ideal setup sometimes they are WAY to hard if possible at all. Noticed plenty of bugs that are quite unacceptable ;p and I hate invisible walls blocking your path and im not talking about the ones stopping you falling off edges. I tried stealthing through the tutorial area because it was almost impossible even on easy, only to find out after getting to the level exit i was killed instantly because I didnt kill a certain NPC 2 rooms back ...

The art quality drops off sharply in some areas but thats to be expected in such a big game, music is pretty meh - Mass Effect was awesome because the futuristic theme, Dragon Age needs a real orchestra to pull off the proper LOTR feel, East West digital orchestras make me cry ;( More money needs to be invested into soundtracks because it's the only thing really lacking now.

Neverthe less it's really great, and will be MUCH more fun the second time through. Give me another 10 levels and I'll no doubt love it and call it GOTY :P

lmao mino!

best bug i had ...

when I decided to not assist the dalvish elven leader dude, who created the curse on the humans and turned them into werewolves i killed him after a long fight, only to have the original encounter reset, all the dialog played but the keeper of the forest was turned into a white wolf :S then after it finished i did 1 hp damage to the elveish leader and then the proper event played

:D

I've been playing the game pretty solid now for about 20 hours, it's incredible but they really should make "easy" what it suggests at the start. You need at least 10 hours and allot of patience for this game.

I'm 26 hours in now and i have solved 12% of the game and have seen 30% of the locations. Think about setting the difficulty to hard now. Magic seems a bit overpowered on normal once you got some decent spells and enough experience with the combat system.

The game is really fun now, still nothing revolutunary but it reminds me a lot of oldschool rpg's that i loved. Ultima 7, Ambermoon, Albion etc. Would probably remind me of the Baldurs Gates too but i never played them enough. Also Bethesda and Bioware should join forces. A game with the open worldness and side quests of a Bethesda game combined with the main quest of a bioware rpg + the combat system of Dragon Age would be the perfect singleplayer RPG.

I ended up boning Morrigan, but I guess Bioware were a little hesitant to include any bare arses this time. Or bare anything, for that matter. The characters did it in their underpants, somehow.

Started as a Mage, and holy shite how good the class is, after I've picked up spells like Cone of Cold and Winters Grasp, crowdcontrolling everything within reach. Shame I have to chug mana-pots like a junkie, hence why I also picked Herbalism to craft myself plenty. Just done the Redcliff area and unlocked Blood Mage. Feels good, man.
