Creppy as fuck feels abstract and experimental at times but i think what we see on the screen is ment 100% literal great ending!

From the guy who made primer ! and its equally mind bending ... i dont even know how to describe this movie its like ... a fake docudrama about a fictional parasitic organism and its symptoms if people get infected by it ?! this movie is a great demonstration that sci fi doesn't have to be futuristic you can also totally deal with contemporary made up science concepts eerie and fascinating in concept but doesnt really tell an interesting plot:

Terry gilliam is back !!!! i saw this in new york and at the screening motherfucking terry gilliam was actually present so that certainly may have rosecolored the whole experience becasue i quite like this movie but people in general seem to be not quit down with it. I mean of course nothing will ever reach the heights of twelve monkeys and brazil again but i take mediocre Gilliam sci fi over NO Gilliam sci fi

they made an ad for a large german electronics store called "saturn" once ... i only just now found out that this was made by the same guys:

I think the best part of that trailer is the concept and idea behind it.

"Faster than light travel was made possible by harvesting exotic matter from the eggs of the largest species mankind has ever seen. Those that take part in the hunt are mostly involuntary labor"

 

Space prisoners or slaves forced to hunt space whales. I think that could be made into an awesome scifi movie.

Overall great visuals for a proof of concept particularly the spaceship designs. I hope this film gets made as there's never enough of good quality scifi.

i am a bit of an alex garland fan (loved the beach 28days later and sunshine) and so far his directional debut is getting quality reviews.

 

unfortunately the movie is  too niche to get a wide release and probably not even make it to hamburg -_-
