KaNaR Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Hi everyone, I'm coming to you to try to get some help on a shadow bug I'm experiencing with my INSURGENCY map. The problem is that dynamic shadows (player's and prop_physics's) are yellow. I tried to fix it, and it worked with a shadow_control entity, but now I'm experiencing this problem : (it has nothing to do with the low settings) It seems to be due to shadows on displacements, but it never happened to me before. I don't think it is due to the RAD, since i tried twice. The shadow_control is used with default settings, and it shouldn't be related to light_environment, since I didn't change anything. Because I know that displacements can get that type of errors when compiling on -fast. Or something in the 3dskybox, when they "overlap" you can get some weird stuff going on aswell. Quote

It appears like rad.exe crashed without displaying it And for those interested in the map, I might post the download link very soon EDIT : damn, i didn't fix anything, but it seems like the shadows are alright WITH hdr and are fucked up without it Quote
2d-chris Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Have you set specific light env HDR and LDR settings? In Haditha I set both values rather than use the defaults of your light_environment entity. A good solution to fix allot of these issues is to delete and rebuild certain things, sometimes it can help you find the problem or at least fix it. If you _REALLY_ can't fix it simple add a static car there Quote
