Gloglebag Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 http://www.torchlightgame.com/ Escapist review: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/article ... Torchlight My opinion: Animations are good, graphics are very nice cartoony and atmospheric, think all the things you hated about diablo 3 x5. It has inventory management for you folks that like tedious mechanics, but you can put items in your pets inventory and have the pet sell the loot in about 30 seconds, for people like me. Imps are great, think ultraviolent gummybear like squishy chimps of death and destruction. When you die you get a choice between ressing right there for xp and gold penalty, ressing at the entrance for only gold penalty or ressing at the town for no penalty. Your character picks up gold just by walking over it. Map can be displayed in the right corner or in the middle like diablo. You have no healthregen, but your pet does. You can go fishing, and feed your pet different fishes for different effects like turn him in to a spider. Frankly for 16,- euro's it's instabuy. Quote
Corwin Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Oh it's available? Great, I preordered that at the same time as Borderland, downloading it now Quote
Skjalg Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Bought it and played it for a couple of hours, but quickly grew tired of it. It's excactly like the diablo series and titan quest except that the story isnt compelling and theres no multiplayer But its cheap Quote
dux Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Looks like a poor man's diablo 3. Looks very similar to the shots they've released of d3 Quote
sarge mat Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Someone post on twitter they have had it delete saves five times over so far. Bit of a worry. None the less Mythos was fun, even though it only ever got into beta and its good to see these guys making a new studio and game. Quote
Skjalg Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 then you should look closer, this has a waaaay more cartoony feel to it. Quote
Erratic Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Loot games overload. Will get around to grabbing this sometime. Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Someone post on twitter they have had it delete saves five times over so far. Bit of a worry. None the less Mythos was fun, even though it only ever got into beta and its good to see these guys making a new studio and game. Only happens if you have multiple chars afaik. They're looking into patching it right now. I'm looking forward to the mod tools being released at the end of the week so somebody can make a performance patch, their whole "It can run on netbooks!" pitch was so exaggerated. 10 FPS average isn't playable, Quote
Campaignjunkie Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 I think the biggest plus is that they're including the level editor - you can add more rooms for it to randomize within the dungeons, or make your own tilesets because all the model / textures formats are open - the modding possibilities sound pretty cool. I'd say it's the game's big leg-up against Diablo 3, considering Blizzard's track record with supporting Diablo mods. Quote
Skjalg Posted October 29, 2009 Report Posted October 29, 2009 Yeah its gonna be so cool to make entire dungeons and play them with my best friends... no wait.. Quote
