dual topic: forum etiquette request / hardware question

yo guys, i have two things in this topic i'd like to discuss.

the first one is the forum etiquette of the gaming discussion forum. would it be possible instead of having random names for game threads to just make game threads with the name of the game? i'm really tired of looking through the posts only to find the post somewhere with something such as 'teaser' put onto the end of it. it's the same with extra screenshots or trailers or other preliminary hype spreading devices. it would be awesome if every game had its own thread and people just kept adding to the end of that thread.

secondly, i have a hardware problem...

recently i tried to install some beta drivers for making the ps3 controller function within the realm of my PC. this didn't work for some reason, and i decided to uninstall the drivers. unfortunately, the drivers took the windows USB I/O drivers with them as well, which means that neither mouse nor keyboard work in windows, and as a result, i can't use my stationary PC. so far i've looked for help on google, i've tried PS2 input, i've tried windows repair from the windows disc (keyboard works outside of windows) as well as windows reinstall (which wouldn't work without reformatting) - neither which have helped me. now i'm imploring you, mapcore, to tell me if there is a way to regain the drivers or otherwise make the computer accessible without having to take out the hdd over to another computer to back it up before reinstalling windows. i run XP still, in case anyone is wondering.

First off, I think its a little funny that you made a thread about dividing and arranging threads so that things dont get mixed, then you post a mixed thread ;D

As I've said to you on MSN, the only thing left for you to do now is to take out your hdd and put it into another computer and boot the windows to see if the problems still exists there. If it doesn't, then your motherboard is most likely screwed, but if it does then I'd try to back up the data and just format.

i know that my motherboard isn't screwed; i know that it is the windows installation. i just want to see if it's possible to fix this without having to format. otherwise i'll have to go through gettingit out and getting it onto another computer for backup, then formatting...

I wholeheartedly concur.

Sometimes I've been tempted to change the title of threads that are obviously dedicated to a certain game (Like the MW2 and Borderlands threads right now for example), but I've felt it was slightly rude maybe to go in and do that, since people get what its about already.
